Xiaomi teases a Surprise Launch for Tomorrow. Redmi Note 7 in bound?

Xiaomi is all set to conduct an event tomorrow for the launch of the first device under the Redmi sub-brand which we expect to be the Redmi Pro 2. They call this upcoming device “Little King Kong”. The brand has plans to announce yet another product in tomorrow’s event according to a poster which was posted on their Weibo account.

The upcoming handset will have a huge 6.3-inch display measuring 159.21×75.21×8.1 mm. There will be a 3900mAh battery on this handset (which basically means it is a 4000mAh battery, as TENAA listing typically shows a minimum rating of the battery). This device is expected to be the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 whose teaser got leaked a couple of weeks back.

We will witness a 48 MP camera on it. This is further confirmed by the fact that the shadow the Redmi logo had 4800 which is the Chinese denomination of 48 MP. This might be the device which the CEO of the brand had teased on Weibo earlier last month.

An in-display camera like the ones seen on the Samsung Galaxy A8s is expected on the handset. Under the hood, it will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 675 chipset. A glass body and rear fingerprint sensor are expected on the device. In terms of software, the handset is expected to ship with Android Pie 9.0 with MIUI on top.

There is no official word regarding which device is going to be launched along with this new Redmi device, but we expect it to be the Redmi Note 7 which recently got listed on online benchmarking website Geekbench earlier this week.

We can’t be so sure that the surprise launch should necessarily be a smartphone as the Chinese smartphone maker is into other smart products as well, like fitness bands for which we’ll have to wait until tomorrow when the brand officially unveils the product. Keep watching this space for more updates.
