Last year in the month of November, the Xiaomi MiUI 9 Global ROM based upon Android 7.0 Nougat was announced. Xiaomi has recently confirmed that it has also planned to release this version for 40 of its devices. As we all know, all the latest devices like Redmi Note 4, Mi Mix 2 and also the Mi Mix 3 will receive this latest update.
But, the good thing is that even the older device like the Redmi Note 3, Redmi 3s, and also the Redmi 4A will be receiving this latest update. Xiaomi has now released that latest MiUi 9.2 update for the Redmi Note 3 which is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow which will be the base OS. This update clearly states that Xiaomi has skipped the MIUI 9 and has directly to its newer version of their ROM.
This comes after the outcry that the Redmi Note 3 users came had on social media, as they didn’t get an update to MIUI 9 stable on time, as MIUI 9 beta was bogged down by many issues. Now, Xiaomi just skipped MIUI 9 all together and went right on to MIUI 9.2 for the device.
This new update is named as MIUI 188.8.131.52.MHOMIEK and is somewhere around 290MB. According to the discussion in the MiUI forum, we got to know that this update is not a nighty build update, but this is a stable update which is been directly pushed to the users so that they can get the feedback from the customers before the general release. So all the Redmi Note 3 users will be receiving the update this update in the next 2-3 days.
Now talking about the features, this update comes with a fresh and interactive UI and also with a newer version of the gallery, calendar, and also the app vault. But unfortunately, this update lacks the support of split screen, and also face unlock. We hope to see all these new features with the Marshmallow update. With this new update, now it is much easier to move all the icons into folders and can also easily add widgets into an empty slot just with a single tap.
