A lot of rumors have been buzzing around from various sources in the past few days regarding the existence of a new smartphone which is expected to be launched by Xiaomi on the 24th of December. Today, we have got some interesting information regarding the handset.

Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi posted a few teaser images on its official Weibo account along with the date confirmation which complies with the previous rumors. Check out the teaser images below.

It is clear from the images that the handset sports a water drop shaped notch, which makes it the first ever Xiaomi device to feature the new water drop notch design. They also reveal the rear design of the handset.

The rear of the device sports a vertically stacked dual rear camera setup along with a physical fingerprint scanner. This clears out the possibility about the presence of an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The handset also passed through Chinese certification authority TENAA which revealed the key specifications of the handset. The device bears the model number M1901F9E.
