Xiaomi is all set to unveil its CC series on July 2. Ahead of the launch, the Xiaomi CC9e has appeared on benchmarking platform GeekBench with multiple performance results but none of them specifies the processor in the device. The smartphone was also spotted in Chinese regulatory agency TENAA with model number M1906F9SC.
The phone that was benchmarked in GeekBench as the “Xiaomi MI CC 9e” features 6GB RAM and runs Android 9 Pie. It is listed to be powered by a octa-core chipset clocked at 1.80 GHz. Till now, the handset was rumoured to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC but these results prove that it is not true.
The reason for this argument is that all devices which are powered by the SD 710 have a base frequency of 1.71GHz. The question is if not the SD 710, then which one. If we look at the five different results except for the last one, all have a single-core result of over 1400 points and a multi-score of over 5000 points.
The score indicate it is not the SD 660 as it has a base frequency of 1.84GHz. It isn’t the SD 636 or the SD 632 as neither of these has a multi-core score of more than 5,000 points. After elimination we have in our hand the SD 675, but it has a much higher single-core and multi-core score. Seeing the scores fall between those of SD 636 and SD 660, we strongly believe that the Xiaomi MI CC9e may be powered by the SD 665 chipset. It was announced by Qualcomm back in April but yet to appear in a smartphone.
The SD 665 focuses on AI that helps in improving photography. This falls in line as the Xiaomi CC9e is being marketed as camera-focused device. The company was the first to launch a smartphone powered by the SD 710, so it will not be surprising if it does the same with SD 665. Lao Wei revealed in a post in Weibo that the smartphone has a different chipset with 48MP rear camera and 32MP front camera.
The Xiaomi CC9e was also certified in TENAA. The listing reveals it will sport a 6.088 inch display. A 3940 mAh battery and measures 153.48 x 71.85 x 8.47 mm. From the images, the phone have a 3D curved glass back and a similar design to the bigger CC9. The triple rear camera can be seen stacked in a vertical arrangement on the top left corner. There is no fingerprint sensor which means it will come with an under display one. The front has a notch and a small lower bezel. The power button and the volume rocker are on the left side while the right side holds the SIM tray.
More details about the Xiaomi CC9 and the will be revealed from the launch tomorrow in China. Till then, keep tuned.
