Xiaomi launched its gaming smartphone Black Shark earlier this year. Since then, the market for gaming smartphones have grown rapidly and people are getting more and more interested to purchase gaming smartphones. Manufacturers like Asus, Razer, Nubia have also launched their own gaming smartphones this year. Now, the company is planning to launch a successor to the Black Shark, which it calls the Black Shark 2.
The device was spotted a few weeks ago in TENAA, a certification authority in China which revealed the key specifications of the device. Xiaomi officially teased the launch of the Black Shark 2 on its global website, which clearly means that the brand has plans to make the Black Shark 2 available across various markets.
Their website states “Shark Approaching” and “Unleashing soon”. Xiaomi might release the device very soon as their rival in the gaming segment has unveiled the Razer Phone 2 yesterday. By making a global launch, the smartphone would be able to go against the likes of competitor devices like Asus’s ROG Phone and Razer Phone 2.
In terms of specifications, the handset will feature the Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 8 GB of RAM. There will be 128 GB of internal storage on the device. The handset will sport an 18:9 display unlike the 16:9 display seen on other gaming smartphones.
A hands-on video of the device has also been leaked online which mainly shows off the RGB logo and the lights at either side of the device, which honestly looks cool. Take a look at the video below!
As more and more gaming smartphones are getting released, the hardware limitations are getting vanished and it gives game developers a chance to harness the power of hardware and optimize high-end games to work flawlessly. In the near future, we expect games which actually require gaming smartphones to be launched to make good use of the hardware resources.
