Chinese smartphone maker Vivo which caught the attraction of the tech industry worldwide at the MWC 2018 with its Vivo Apex Phone (which was launched officially earlier this day) has now decided to go with the trend by the top-notch display. We had seen another device last month from the brand – the X30 showcasing the notch at the top.
Last week, we had spotted the V9 smartphone on a billboard ad in Indonesia. According to this ad, we can clearly notice that after the launch of the Vivo V7, the company has skipped the launch of V8 and now is directly launching the V9. It is evident that the Vivo V9 is offering a nearly bezel-less display and also it comes with a top notch. The official billboard suggests that the brand has plans to launch the device soon in the market.
The device seems to be heavily inspired by the looks of Huawei P20. More and more companies are adapting to the notch design because Android P ecosystem natively supports the notch. The date on the leaked image shows August 25th which hints that the device might be an early prototype or a pre-production model.
There is also a video of the Vivo V9 back panel in production assembly line, take a look:
The device sports a dual camera on the rear side and the front camera is equipped with a 24MP sensor. This has been confirmed via an official teaser. A fingerprint sensor is mounted on the back side. We’ll get to know the key specifications soon hopefully as leaks happen more frequently for devices these days. The predecessor Vivo V7 had a Snapdragon 450 chip which is an entry-level processor but this one sports a Snapdragon 660 which is a decent upgrade to the overall performance and fluidity.
