Vivo Nex and Nex S

There have been lots of talks about the upcoming Vivo Nex in recent times. It was recently leaked in promo materials and is expected to be the retail version of the Vivo Apex which was showcased in MWC 2018 and was a matter of excitement due to its truly bezel-less display and the innovative pop-up Selfie Camera. Though the front renders of the device were already used in teasers by the brand, a short hands-on video of the smartphone is leaked as well which gives us a clear idea of how the final version looks.

Even though the video is short, it gives us a clear overview of the black version of the device. There is supposed to be a red ruby version as well. In addition to the leaked video, a couple of images have been leaked as well which gives us details about the specifications of the top end variant. The Vivo Nex will come in three variants namely Nex, Nex S and Nex A.

The leaked posters reveal that the top variant i.e. the Nex S will come with a 6.59-inch display and Snapdragon 845 coupled with 8GB of RAM along with 256GB of storage as seen on official site a few days back. The base variant i.e. the Nex will be powered by Snapdragon 710, however, there is no information about Nex A as of now.

Both the Nex and Nex S will feature an 8-megapixel pop-up selfie Camera and a 12MP+5MP Dual Camera setup at the back, also, the Cameras will be aided with nifty AI features. While the NEX will have a fingerprint scanner at the back, the In-Display Fingerprint Scanner will be exclusive to the Nex S.

Both of the smartphones will run on Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, backed by a 4000mAh battery.

The Nex series is scheduled for launch on June 12 after which we’ll have exact information about pricing.
