Chinese smartphone maker Vivo had announced their plans to introduce a sub-brand named iQOO last week on Chinese microblogging website Weibo. This step looks like an inspiration from other Chinese smartphone giants like Xiaomi, ZTE, and OPPO.
Today, an image with randomly placed numbers and words have surfaced on Weibo which hints at the specifications of the first iQOO device. The name of the smartphone is not known yet. According to the image, the device will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 chipset which obviously means that this new smartphone will be a flagship device.
There will be 12 GB of RAM on the handset to ensure smooth multitasking and it is coupled with a whopping 256 GB of internal storage. The device comes with NFC chipset which enables the users for fast and hassle-free payment of bills.
A vertically stacked triple rear cameras will be present on the device with support for Super HDR technology. In terms of battery, there will be a whopping 4000 mAh battery. The key attraction is the presence of 44W fast charging which is the fastest charging seen so far in the industry. The port used on the handset will be USB Type C.
Reports have surfaced online that Vivo will be using sixth generation in-display fingerprint sensors on this one. The Vivo NEX Dual came with the fifth generation of in-display fingerprint sensor technology. The brand has not disclosed details regarding what the newer generation in-display fingerprint sensor would bring but it is obvious that the range of the sensor placed will see an increase in radius.
The speed and accuracy of the sensor are also expected to be improved on this newer sensor. There is no information available right now regarding the launch, pricing, and availability of this device but we expect the brand to announce the details soon. Till then, stay tuned for updates.
