After endless rumours and teases, Vivo has finally launched its iQOO smartphone and we are more than impressed. The new Vivo IQOO is touted to be gaming smartphone and carries an official “Monster Inside” tag.
The rear of the smartphone has a premium glass back that hides a color LED which looks great when illuminated. The device has two shoulder buttons just like the Nubia Red Magic Mars aand comes with the previously teased 4D Shock feature making it gaming-ready.
The Chinese OEM has included the top-of-the-line specs on the Vivo IQOO. It features a 6.41 inch AMOLED display with a dew-drop notch resulting in a screen-to-body ratio of 91.7 percent. Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset. It is paired with a whooping 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The phone comes with a ‘super liquid cooling’ to reduce heat while running heavy graphics-intensive games for long duration.
The higher-end models includes a 4,000 mAh battery with support for 44W fast-charging which means it can charge 100 percent in 45 and 50 percent in just 15 minutes. There is a lower variant with a 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage configuration. However, this base variant lacks the 44W fast-charging and instead comes with a 22.5 W charging support.
The device comes with a Multi-Turbo service that includes AI Turbo, Center Turbo, Net Turbo, Cooling Turbo and Game Turbo to boost the performance. The AI Turbo can increase app start-up by 30 per cent while the Centre Turbo improves frame rate by 73 percent. Multi-Turbo lets you automatically switch between Wi-Fi and 4G enabling a seamless multiplayer gaming experience.
Even if the Vivo IQOO is a gaming smartphone, Vivo has taken care of the smartphone camera enthusiasts as well. It sports a triple camera setup at the rear consisting for a 12MP primary sensor with proprietary dual pixel technology, a 2MP depth sensor and a 13MP wide-angle lens (Sony IMX263). The handset runs on FunTouch OS based on Android 9 Pie.

The company is yet to reveal the storage variants and RAM options. It is likely to come with a standard offering of 2GB + 16GB and 3GB + 32GB. The company did confirm that it will come with a non-hybrid SIM tray which supports up to 256GB SD cards.
In the optics department, it has a single 13MP rear sensor with a LED flash and is aided by AI algorithms to improve imagery. The resolution of the front camera is yet to be revealed but Redmi promised that it will have AI beauty enhancements and background bokeh effect. It will draw power from a 4,000 mAh battery. While this will be 33% larger than the 6A, the in-box charger has been upgraded from 5W to 10W.
The Redmi 7A will be available in blue and black shades. The price and the available will be revealed on the Redmi K20 launch event on May 28. According to rumors, the company may launch a new laptop with the two smartphones, likely to be called RedmiBook 14.
