Xiaomi is preparing itself for its flagship device launch – the Mi 9 which will happen later this year. Today, a new Xiaomi device bearing the model number M1902F1A / M1902F1T has passed through China’s Compulsory Certificate (3C) authority in China.

From the rating of the charger, it is evident that it belongs to an upcoming flagship device. The charger listed supports up to 27W fast charging. There is no other vital information from the certification which might hint at the specification of this mysterious device. We suspect this to be the Mi 9.

The model number also hints to be the successor of the Mi 8. The Mi 8, the Mi series flagship from 2018 had the model number M1803E1A/T which closely resembles the M1902F1A/T seen on the 3C certification. Moreover, CEO of Xiaomi Lei Jun had claimed that the charging technology would be better on the Mi 9 than Redmi Note 7 which has 18W fast charging support.

As of now, there is no official information regarding the launch of Mi 9 but rumor has it that it would be unveiled on the 19th of February. The handset is expected to feature 6.4” AMOLED Display with 6/8/10 GB RAM variants, triple rear cameras of which the primary sensor is rumored to be a 48 MP Sony IMX5860 and the other two sensors being a 12 MP telephoto lens and a 3D TOF sensor. The front camera is expected to have a 24 MP sensor. A decent 3,500 mAh battery is also expected to be present on the handset.

An in-display fingerprint scanner and support for wireless charging are also expected on the Mi 9. The presence of wireless charging is now doubtful as the brand would be focusing more on the wired charging department with the 27W charger. More leaks regarding the key specifications will be happening in the upcoming weeks hopefully. Till then, stay tuned for updates.
