Samsung Patents Galaxy J3 Star and Galaxy J7 Star Names

Published

on

Samsung is one of the major companies which have diverted their attention into the Budget segment lately. They’ve launched the On series in the entry and budget segment and the J series in the budget and mid-range segment. The company has just trademarked two more phones of the J Series: Samsung Galaxy J7 Star and Galaxy J3 Star. The patent has been filed for registration at the US Patent and Trademark Office, so we’re speculating an international launch this year itself.

The Samsung J7 Star and J3 Star are expected to be the higher priced variants among other variants like Prime, Max, Pro, Ace and Nxt. Some of them are exclusively launched for some regions like Asia while others are available globally. The J3 Star is expected to be an entry level phone and might feature a low-end Exynos SoC.

Samsung has recently launched a variant of the J7: Samsung Galaxy J7 2017. It is a mid-range device, and sports a large 5.5 inch AMOLED Display with a Full HD Resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The phone is powered by an Exynos 7870 SoC, 3GB of DDR3 RAM, and 16GB of internal storage which is kind of low for phones in this segment. However, you can expand storage via the MicroSD card slot.

Unfortunately, Samsung has informed us nothing more about the oncoming phones. However, we can expect the J7 Star to be priced something around 15,000 rupees and the J3 Star to be priced for about 9,000 rupees. However, we’re not sure about the rumors. Since the J7 2017 had just 3GB of RAM, the new J7 Star might be featuring 4GB of RAM and 32GB of Internal Storage.

Samsung is preparing to launch its new flagships, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ at MWC 2018. A lot of renders have been leaked showing complete views of the device from all angles. What are your thoughts on this? Express your views in the comments below.

Samsung’s Midrange Devices to Come with Full-Screen OLED Design

Published

on

samsung

According to a recent report from “The Investor” from the Samsung’s home country, the tech giant indicates that it will soon be bringing the flexible OLED displays to its midrange devices. This is a very smart move from Samsung to increase its revenue from the Samsung displays. The Samsung’s infinity display concept can be only seen on the S8, S8+ and the Note 8. Now the all-new Galaxy S9 is also expected to be launched with the similar design within a span of few days.

As the Galaxy S series are the flagships models, these are not affordable by the average consumer. Now there might be a reason behind Samsung introducing these display to the midrange devices, and that could probably be because of Apple. The tech giant Apple said that they have reduced the orders of Samsung’s OLED panels and now Samsung is left with a large inventory of displays.

You can now figure out this logic all by yourself. Coming back, though Samsung puts in the OLED displays in the midrange models we are still not sure yet if these devices will come with a affordable price tag or not. There are many manufactures out there who are not getting the OLED displays in the midrange segment for one obvious reason, the cost. So now it would be really interesting to see at what price is Samsung offering these devices, we need to wait till the official launches of all these devices to see the official pricing. What are your views? Would this device be coming with a premium price tag, or the affordable tag?

Moto Done with C Series? New Report Suggests that E5 Play will be its Replacement

Published

moto c

Motorola had ventured into the entry level market with the Moto C series last year. The company launched two models- the Moto C and C Plus. The results were satisfactory, but it seems that Moto has other plans.

Moto Fan and popular leakster Andri Yatim has claimed that no Moto C phone would be launched this year. Mediatek chips have been widely criticised. This seems to be the reason for the cancellation. Furthermore, he has said that the E5 Play would serve as a replacement for the cut off model.

Moto E5 Play is already leaked . The device has an 16:9 display, which does not stick with latest trends. Moreover, it has a front flash which might signify Moto’s emphasis on front camera quality.

This aligns up with the fact that no Moto C leaks have been out yet. However, this may also mean that Moto will have only four series to their name. This includes the budget E series, mid-range G series, premium X series and the flagship Z series.

The leakster has also informed us that Moto is cutting down the C series because of lower sales. It appears that the Moto C and C Plus was not at all profitable. The Moto C was released last year with the Mediatek MT6737M processor and a rather small 2350 mAh battery. At the same time, the higher end Moto C Plus had the better MT6737 processor and a big 4000 mAh of RAM. However, Moto seemed to have missed the power efficiency factor on both smartphones.

NOTE: This is just a rumour and should be taken with a pinch of salt. This could be or could not be true.
