Samsung Galaxy S10 is one of the most anticipated smartphones next year and the usual spate of leaks and rumours about the smartphone has already started. Today the folks at 91mobiles with partnership with @OnLeaks gave an insight to the design aspect and specification of the upcoming smartphone.
The website posted a couple of 5K renders along with a 360 degree video. The Galaxy S10 Plus is expected to feature a 6.4 inch dual curved edge display which is likely to be an AMOLED panel with QHD resolution. The renders show a triple camera setup at the back with LED flash stacked in a horizontal arrangement. The triple camera setup is expected to have a standard lens, telephoto and a wide-angle lens.
The front seems to have a dual camera cut-out at the top right corner of the display. The design was previously shown at the Samsung Developers Conference (SDC) last month called Infinity-O design. Due to the cut-out the device almost has a bezel-less design and will come with a high screen-to-body ratio. The S10 Plus measures 157.5 x 75.0 x 7.8 and 9 mm thickness due to the slight bump of the rear camera. The renders show the handset in a gradient Ice Blue hue, recently launched for the Galaxy S9 and the S9 Plus.
The handset will come with a in-display fingerprint sensor which will be the first in a Samsung device. But unlike the latest under-display fingerprint sensors made by other manufacturers, Samsung’s will be an ultrasonic one, that uses sound waves to read the fingerprint resulting in a faster experience and more-accurate results. Apart from that, the Galaxy S10 Plus will also ditch the company’s Iris scanning feature for a new version of Face Unlock. It retains the old 3.5mm headphone jack and has a USB Type-C port along with a loudspeaker at the bottom. The top edge houses the ejectable SIM tray while the power button and volume rocker is placed on the right with a dedicated Bixby button on the left.
As for the specs of the device, it is expected to be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 chipset in the US market while shipping it with Exynos 9820 SoC in other markets including India. Rumours point to 12GB RAM and 1TB internal storage variant for the Galaxy S10 Plus but the standard Plus variant will likely come with a 6GB/8GB RAM. It will run Samsung’s new One UI on top of Android 9 Pie. Other rumours hint to a lite variant and an ultra premium 5G model. It is expected to be unveiled on the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 which will be held in Las Vegas from January 8 to 11.
