Samsung is ready to launch the Galaxy S10 Lite in India. It’s essentially a Galaxy S10, but more affordable. The phone is being teased on Flipkart and it’s pretty much sure that the phone will be exclusively available on Flipkart. But, even before the official launch in India, we know a few things, thanks to Flipkart listing.
The Galaxy S10 Lite will be unveiled at CES 2020 at Las Vegas, starting from January 7. But more of the details about the phone are already available. The phone will feature a 6.7-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a centered hole punch cutout, similar to that on the Galaxy Note 10.
The Flipkart listing revealed quite a few things about the Galaxy S10 Lite. The Galaxy S10 Lite will come with a triple camera setup on the back. There are three sensors, placed vertically- First of all, there is the 5-megapixel macro lens, below that, there is the 48-megapixel primary camera which is optically stabilized (OIS) and at the bottom, there is a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens. On Flipkart, there are some highlighting points about the camera, focusing on Live Focus capabilities of the phone in terms of video and also about OIS.
Apart from the camera, there is the mention of the processor and it’s quite good news that the Galaxy S10 Lite will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 coupled with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage. The Galaxy S10 Lite will run Android 10 out of the box with Samsung’s OneUI 2.0 on top. The phone is said to pack a 4500mAh battery.
Along with the Galaxy S10 Lite, Samsung has also announced the Galaxy Note 10 Lite. However, it’s not very clear whether these devices will be available globally or not. Also, there are no words from the brand regarding the pricing. Maybe after they officially reveal the pricing, hopefully at CES, we will get some idea about the pricing. However, it looks like this time, Samsung is launching a Snapdragon processor powered phone, finally in India. When the device was announced, there is the mention of Samsung’s in-house Exynos 8895 chipset.
Alongside the S10 Lite, the Note 10 Lite may also be launched in India. The S10 Lite doesn’t come with an S-Pen whereas the Note 10 Lite does. The S-Pen on Note 10 Lite uses the same Bluetooth Low-Energy connectivity, that was introduced with the Galaxy Note 9, in 2018.
