Samsung seems to be in the final round of preparations to unveil a new budget smartphone lineup. We have already witnessed leaks in the past regarding the Galaxy M10 and the M20. Now, information regarding the existence of another smartphone in the M series, the M30 has surfaced online.
The alleged Samsung Galaxy M30 has passed through online benchmarking website Geekbench. According to Geekbench, the device bears the model number SM-M305F. The device scored 1327 in single-core and 4197 in multi-core. The scores are on par with the Galaxy M20 which had a single-core score of 1,319 and a multi-core score of 4,074 as per the listing. It must be noted that both the scores are lower than that of the Galaxy A8 which runs on the same processor. The device will be packed with 4 GB of RAM. The internal storage is not known yet.
Under the hood, it will be powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 7885 chipset which is an octa-core processor clocked at 1.59 GHz. The device will run older Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box similar to the Galaxy M20 which is a bit disappointing as most of the modern smartphones run Android Pie 9.0 out of the box. We expect an update will be rolled out as soon as the device gets launched in the market.
Samsung has already started the mass production of the Galaxy M10 and M20 in their new manufacturing facility situated at Noida, India. There are rumors that there could be another variant for the Galaxy M30 with a whopping 128 GB of internal storage and 6 GB of RAM. The device is rumored to pack a 5.5 inch AMOLED display. There is no information regarding the unveiling of this new M series but we expect it to happen before the launch of Samsung’s upcoming flagship device Galaxy S10. Till then, stay tuned for further updates.
