Samsung Galaxy M20 & Galaxy M10 Launched! Knock Out Punch for Xiaomi?

Last year, it was reported that Samsung will be replacing the current Galaxy On and J smartphone series with its Galaxy M series. Since then, Samsung’s big comeback to Indian smartphone market has been hyped and leaked.

Finally, the Korean manufacturer launched the Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M10 in the Indian market. The company claims that the new ‘India-first’ smartphones are targeted at ‘young millennials and focuses on powerful batteries, cameras and displays.

Samsung Galaxy M20

The Galaxy M20 is the first smartphone to feature its Infinity V notched display.  The display is a 6.3 inch PLS TFT with 16 million colors display capacity.

Under the hood, there is an octa-core 14nm Exynos 7904 paired with a Mali-G71 MP2 GPU. It will be available in two variants: 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage which can be further expanded via a microSD card.

In the optics department, the device sports a dual camera setup at the rear with a 13MP primary camera with f/1.9 aperture and a secondary 5MP camera with f/2.2 for depth sensing. It comes with LED flash, panorama and HDR capabilities and can shoot full HD videos at 30 fps. On the front it offers a 5MP single sensor with f/2.0 aperture.

The dual SIM handset runs on Samsung’s Experience UI 9.5 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. The previous rumours claimed that Android 9 Pie update will arrive sometime in August which will roll with its latest One UI.

The Galaxy M20 has a rear mounted fingerprint sensor for security and is backed by a massive 5,000 mAh battery with 15W fast charging support.

There is a 3.5mm headphone jack along with a loudspeaker grill at the bottom part of the frame. The M20 like the M10’s headphone port comes with active noise cancellation with dedicated mic support. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS with GLONASS and a USB type-C port.

The Galaxy M20 costs Rs 10,990 and 12,990 for the 3/32GB and 4/64GB respectively. It will be available via Amazon India in Ocean Blue and Charcoal Black color options from Samsung’s own online store from February 5 on 12 noon.

Samsung Galaxy M10

Samsung also launched Galaxy M10 alongwith the M20. It is essentially a lite version of the M20, and features a similar 6.22 inch Infinity V display.

It is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 7870 SoC, which we previously saw in various Samsung phones such as Samsung Galaxy On6, Samsung Galaxy J6, Samsung Galaxy A6 and more.

It also comes with a dual camera setup of 13MP primary + 5MP ultra wide angle secondary on the back. And a 5MP selfie shooter is given on the front.

The battery takes a downgrade here though, which is rated at 3,400mAh. It also comes with microSD card expansion like the M20. The phone is available in two color combinations: Ocean Blue and Charcoal Black.

The 2/16GB variant of the phone is priced at Rs.7,990 and the 3/32GB variant is priced at Rs.8,990. It’ll be available exclusively on Amazon.

Samsung Galaxy A60 & Galaxy A40s Launched in China along with Galaxy A70 & Galaxy A80

Samsung recently launched the Galaxy A70 in India while the Galaxy A80 is expected to arrive next month. The South Korean manufacturer today held a launch event in China where it unveiled these smartphones along with the Galaxy A60 and the Galaxy A40s.

The Galaxy A60 sports a similar look to the Galaxy A8s with few internal changes while the the Galaxy A40s is just a rebranded Galaxy M30 launched earlier this year in India. The naming scheme suggests that the M-series might not be launching in China.

Samsung Galaxy A60

The Samsung Galaxy A60 sports a punch-hole display measuring 6.3-inches and bears a Full HD+ resolution. Due to the use of an Infinity-O screen, the phone boasts a 91.8 percent screen-to-body ratio. If we compare the punch hole of the Galaxy A8s which has 4.8mm diameter, the Galaxy A60’s camera it is a bit smaller at 4.69mm diameter. Strangely, Samsung decided to go for an LCD panel instead of an AMOLED one. There is no under display fingerprint sensor and instead comes with a capacitive one placed at the rear.

Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. For imaging, it sports a triple rear camera setup with a 32MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP depth-sensing camera with f/2.2 aperture. It offers a 32MP camera at the front. The handset draws power from a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging support through a USB Type-C port.

Samsung Galaxy A40s

The Galaxy A40s features a 6.4 inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U Display with a waterdrop notch and 19:5:9 aspect ratio and Widevine L1 certification to stream HD content from services like Netflix and Amazon Prime videos.

The Galaxy A40s is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7904 chipset with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It sports a triple camera setup at the rear comprising of a 13MP primary RGB sensor with f/1.9 aperture, 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP ultra-wide lens with 123-degree Field-of-View (FOV). On the front, there is a 16MP camera with selfie focus. The handset is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support through a USB Type-C port.

Samsung Galaxy A80, Galaxy A70, Galaxy A60, Galaxy A40s Price

Samsung is yet to reveal the price of the Galaxy A80 in China, but we know that the phone will be priced in the Rs 45,000-50,000 range. The Galaxy A70’s 6GB RAM variant is priced at CNY 2,499 (Rs 26,000 approx) that is about Rs 3,000 less than its price in India. An 8GB variant will also be available in China that costs CNY 2,799 (Rs 29,000).

The newly announced Samsung Galaxy A60 comes at a price tag of CNY 1,999 (Rs 20,000 approx) for the 6/128GB model. As for the Galaxy A40s, the handset is priced at CNY 1,499 (Rs 15,000 approx).

Samsung Galaxy A70 Launched in India. Comes with SD675 & 6,7 inch Display, Priced at Rs.28,990!

Samsung today launched another A-series smartphone for the Indian market. Dubbed Galaxy A70, it was recently announced at Samsung’s “A Galaxy Event” in Bangkok. Previously, the South Korean manufacturer has launched the Galaxy A50, Galaxy A30, Galaxy A20 and Galaxy A10 in the country priced between Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000. As for the Galaxy A80, the company has confirmed to launch it next month.

The Galaxy A70 has a 3D glass-tic design on the back with an in-display fingerprint sensor at the front. It features a tall 6.7-inch Infinity-U Super AMOLED display with an FHD+ (2400×1080) resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. It comes with a Widevine L1 certification for stream HD videos on-the-go and comes with Dolby Atmos surround sound support for headphones. Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage expandable up to 512GB with a microSD card.

In the optics department, it sports a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 32MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP sensor with f/2.2 ultra-wide-lens and a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture. On the front, it offers a 32MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calling. The cameras are equipped with a Scene Optimiser that can analyze the scenes across 20 modes and adjust the color, contrast, and brightness to enhance photos. Additionally, there are features such as AR Emoji and Selfie Focus.

The dual-SIM (Nano) handset runs on One UI on top of Android 9 Pie and is backed by a 4,500 mAh battery with support for 25W Super-Fast Charging technology via a USB Type-C port. The device has Samsung Pay for easy transaction secured by Knox security.

The Samsung Galaxy A70 is priced at Rs 28,990 for the 6/128GB variant. The phone will be up for pre-order from April 20 to April 30. Customers who pre-order the Galaxy A70 can purchase the Samsung U Flex Bluetooth headphone worth Rs 3,799 for Rs 999. The smartphone will go on sale from May 1 and will be available in White, Blue, and Black prism colors. It will be available across retail stores, Samsung e-shop and Samsung Opera House and e-commerce website Flipkart.

Samsung A2 Core Android Go Phone Launched in India

Samsung today launched an Android Go smartphone in its A-series for the Indian market. It is Samsung’s third Android Go smartphone after the Galaxy J2 Core and Galaxy J4 Core. Dubbed as the Samsung Galaxy A2 Core, it is different than its A-series siblings and also the cheapest.

The Galaxy A2 Core comes with a polycarbonate body and features a 5 inch display with a resolution of qHD (540 x 960 pixels). It is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 chipset clocked at 1.6 GHz. There is 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage which can further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. A previous leak from last month mentioned an 8GB internal storage which is yet to be launched.

The device sports a 5MP camera on the rear with LED flash while offering a 5MP camera at the front. The dual SIM handset runs Android 9 Pie (Go Edition) and is backed by a 2,600 mAh battery. Being an Android Go device it comes with the pack of Android Go optimized apps like Google Assistant Go, maps Go and more.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, Micro-USB port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It measures 141.6 x 71 x 9.1 mm and weighs 142 grams.

The Galaxy A2 Core is priced at Rs 5,920 and comes in Black and Blue color options. It is available in offline stores across the country. There is currently no word from the company regarding the smartphone’s availability from the online channels in India.
