The device was earlier spotted on Samsung’s Vietnamese site and now the device has landed on the Samsung’s Indian site as well hinting at the nearing Indian launch.

The device was previously seen passing the FCC certification as well. It has now appeared on the Samsung India’s Portal carrying the model number SM-J610F/DS, however, no specs have been mentioned in the listing. We think that the device will be similar to the J6 with some minor changes here and there.

It is being speculated that Samsung might ditch the Exynos and pack Qualcomm Snpdragon 450 with Adreno 506 GPU. Moreover, it will come with an AMOLED display with 18:5:9 aspect ratio branded as “Infinity Display”. Also, dual cameras at the back are something we look forward to.

Asus ROG Phone 2 Spotted in Geekbench. Flexes it’s Snapdragon 855 Plus Muscles!

ASUS will be announcing the ASUS ROG Phone 2 on July 23 next week. It will be the first smartphone to be powered by the new Snapdragon 855 Plus processor. Now the device has appeared in benchmarking website GeekBench showing how powerful the new chipset is.

The ASUS ROG Phone 2 is benchmarked as the “asus ASUS_I001DC” with 12GB RAM though we can expect another RAM variant. It runs on Android’s 9 Pie. The spec sheet shows the motherboard name as “msmnile”, the same tag it shows for other devices housing the SD 855. The base frequency is also the same at 1.78GHz but the ROG 2 scores are slightly higher in the tests.

In the single-core test, the tested device managed to score 3612 and 11,103 points on the single-core and multi-core tests respectively. This put the scores a bit higher than the average score of the Snapdragon 855 smartphones. But the difference in scores isn’t large because the difference between the SD855 and the SD855+ is the higher CPU and GPU clock speed of the latter.

Qualcomm claims that the new Snapdragon 855 Plus is designed to offer between gaming performances and enhanced experience with 5G, AI processing, AR and VR. The chipset’s Kyro 485 cores are clocked at a higher 2.96 GHz while the ones at the SD 855 are clocked at 2.84 GHz. The CPU performance boost is about 4.2 percent while the GPU has been claimed to receive a 15 percent boost as well.

As for the ASUS ROG Phone 2, a couple of alleged live images of the smartphone has surfaced online. It shows a familiar design with thick top and bottom bezels and copper accents on the dual front-facing speakers that are the most likely stereo speaker. There is an antenna band at the top left edge suggesting a metallic real panel build.

The new Snapdragon 855 Plus is expected to come with other phones like Black Shark, Xiaomi, Redmi, Nubia’s Red Magic line and Vivo’s iQOO later this year. We will be finding more about the ASUS ROG Phone 2 on July 23. Till then, keep tuned.

With two generations of Xiaomi’s Android One phones, they’re in the works of the next-gen phone which could be named as Mi A3. Usually, the A series follows the design and specifications of “MiX” series of devices. After a lot of rumours, they’d launched Xiaomi CC9 last month. The reports on the web suggest that Xiaomi will follow CC9 lineup for A3 & A3 Lite. Famous tipster @IshanAgarwal24 revealed that the Xiaomi Mi A3 {codenamed bamboo_sprout} will spot Snapdragon 730 SoC while the lower Mi A3 Lite {codenamed cosmos_sprout} will sport a Snapdragon 675 chipset.

Talking about the design, as mentioned earlier it may follow the CC9 line-up most probably. The A3 will spot a 6.39-inch FHD+ display while the A3 lite may spot a 6.01-inch FHD+ display. Both the devices will spot the battery size of 4,030mAh. It they follow the trend of CC9, it will spot a headphone jack. Thankfully Xiaomi will return a headphone jack here and usually, A series would have a smaller capacity battery, but this time they’d solved that issue too.

Ishaan has confirmed that information regarding chipset is confirmed and not likely to change. It the rumours are true, then the Mi A3 would be powerful than the Mi CC9 series and a key differentiator between them will be the processor. The MI CC9 comes with a Snapdragon 710 SoC while the Mi CC9e has a Snapdragon 665 SoC. We don’t have any information regarding the launch date of the devices. However, the brand is launching the Redmi K20 lineup on July 17. The launch of these devices would be in the later Q3/ first of Q4.

Xiaomi also started teasing the phone in their global social media accounts. Which could mean that the global debut of the phone is happening soon.

Realme is scheduled to launch its new smartphone the Realme X in India on July 15. The Chinese company will be launching another device called the Realme 3i and it is confirmed by none other than Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth. While Realme has not released any details about the smartphone, we do know that it will be a direct competitor to the Redmi 7. The Realme 3i has also made an appearance at the benchmarking site GeekBench, spilling the beans on its key specs.

From the GeekBench listing, the Realme 3i will be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 chipset. The tested variant has 4GB RAM but there could be a 3GB RAM option too. It runs on Android 9 Pie with ColorOS 6.0 on top. It managed a score of 1420 and 5070 points on the single-core and multi-core tests respectively.

The other camera specs and battery unit is yet to be revealed but the handset is speculated to come with a 64MP camera given that Realme had earlier confirmed to bring a 64MP smartphone in the country soon. It could sport a 6.2 inch HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The Realme 3i is likely to be backed by a 4230 mAh battery.

The device is basically a watered-down variant of the Realme 3 while the company touts the device as being the most ‘stylish champion’, big battery champion’, ‘display champion’ and ‘camera champion’. While the rumored specs look too good on a budget smartphone, we should wait till an official confirmation.

The price and other information are unknown but we don’t have to wait long as the launch is just a few days from now. Flipkart already has a landing page dedicated to the Realme 3i smartphone.
