Samsung is expected to launch the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) soon in the Indian market after it’s global launch. The upcoming smartphone in the A series comes with four cameras in the rear. The company has already listed the device on their official website and now the website code has revealed the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) price in India.
According to the source code in Samsung’s official Indian website, the smartphone will come at a price tag of Rs 39,000. At this price it will go against the recently launched OnePlus 6T. The Galaxy A9 (2018) was unveiled in Europe with a pricing of €599 which converts into Rs 50,000 approx. Taking into accounts saving by locally manufacturing and the relative difference between the Indian and European market, the Rs 39,000 price tag could be plausible. There is also a chance that this amount could be the maximum smartphone exchange value the company will be offering in the handset.
The Galaxy A9 (2018) was listed last week on the official Samsung page and also a registration page was set up to receive updates about the launch. However, the company didn’t give any official word on the price and launch date.
As for the specifications the Galaxy A9 features a 6.3 inch FHD+ AMOLED display and is powered by an unknown octa-core chipset. It will be available in two configurartions: 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage but the Indian listing page only mentions the 6GB RAM and says “8GB RAM option is available in certain countries”. This hints that the phone may be launched with 6GB RAM initially.
The Quad-camera setup in the rear sports a 24MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture, a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture 8MP wide-angel lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 10MP sensor with 2X optical zoom and f/2.4 aperture. On the front it sports a 24MP camera for selfies and video calling. The camera app is loaded with features like customisable Live Focus, AI based scene optimiser, AR emojis and more.
It runs on Samsung UI on top of Android Oreo and is backed by a 3,800 mAh battery. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5,0, NFC, USB Type-C and A-GPS. For security there is fingerprint sensor in the rear.
Oppo to bring their R series to India Soon! Teased Officially.
If you know Oppo‘s Indian market strategy, then you know they’ve always operated below 25K category, and they’ve always been in the market with midrangers. Only recently they launched their flagship Oppo Find X in India, and that too haven’t been seen a lot of push from the company in terms of advertisement and marketing.
Take a look at this newest post from Oppo on it’s social channels:

Oppo is brining their R series to India.
In case you’re not familar with R series, that’s their flagship series, which was historically been used as a basic framework by OnePlus for their phones. Even the latest Oppo R17 Pro/RX17 Pro and OnePlus 6T looks remarkably similar to each other.
If indeed Oppo is bringing in Oppo R17 Pro/RX17 Pro to India, that’s a huge step for the brand as it’ll push the brand’s image as not only an offline brand, but also as a premium brand in India.
Talking about Oppo R17 Pro, it does resemble OnePlus 6T alot, but has a distinctive gradient finish and also has triple cameras on the back.
It is a flagship in terms of everything other than the SoC, as this one is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, instead of SD845 from flagships.
On the front, it boasts a 6.4 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 19:9.The display also houses an in display fingerprint scanner, much like the one on OnePlus 6T.
And on the back, this phone comes with a Triple camera setup (12 MP wide angle + 20MP primary + TOF 3D stereo camera). The phone is powered by a 3700mAh battery too.
Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) to launch in India on November 20
Recently, we have had the reports of Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) coming to India in November. Now, given that we are already in mid of the month, Samsung has officially confirmed that the device will be unveiled in the country on 20th of November.
The South Korean giant has sent media invites for the launch event, which will be held in Gurugram on November 20. Following the same, the company has also confirmed the launch date in an official video. In the meanwhile, Amazon and Flipkart have created landing pages for the upcoming new smartphone, indicating that it won’t be exclusive to one and instead, will be sold via both of them. Interested ones can register using the “Notify me” button. We expect the phone to retail in offline markets as well.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) has not one, two, but a total of four rear cameras as its USP, further making it the world’s first smartphone to bear four rear cameras.
Coming to the specs, the device comes with a 6.3-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. Under the hood, it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC clubbed with 6/8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The storage is expandable up to 512GB via microSD card.
As mentioned, the A9 (2018) bears a Quad-camera setup at the back, featuring a 24MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture, a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture 8MP wide-angle lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 10MP sensor with 2X optical zoom and f/2.4 aperture. On the front it sports a 24MP camera for selfies and video calling. The camera app is equipped with nifty features like customisable Live Focus, AI-based scene optimiser, AR emojis and more.
On the software front, it runs Samsung UI on top of Android 8.1 Oreo and is backed by a massive 3,800 mAh battery. A fingerprint scanner is given at the rear for unlocking the device. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5,0, NFC, USB Type-C and A-GPS.
As far as the pricing is concerned, according to the source code in listing on Samsung’s official Indian website, the smartphone will come at a price tag of Rs 39,000 which we think is for the higher-end variant with 8/128GB RAM and storage while the 6/128GB model is expected to come at around Rs. 35,000. The device will directly compete with the recently launched OnePlus 6T at that price tag. That being said, stay tuned for the launch event.

The Indonesian market will be the first stage of launch for the handset, and the event will be live streamed as well. Furthermore, the device is going to give a tough competition the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro (coming to India on Nov 22), and if reports are to be believed, the Max Pro M2 will have a slight edge over it.
Quandt revealed in his twitter handle @rquandt that the Zenfone Max Pro M2 with mode number ZB631KL will feature a 6.3″ inch FHD+ display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal space. It will have triple camera setup at the rear while offering a 13MP camera on the front. He further claimed that the Indian variant of the smartphone would bear the model number ZB634KL.
As for its gaming powers, there is not much information about it; however, with the SD 660, the Taiwanese manufacturer could combine with a new performance-boosting mode like Huawei’s GPU Turbo and OPPO’s Hyper Boost. The complete specification and the price of the device will likely be announced at the launch. The availability of the smartphone in other countries like India may also be confirmed during the launch. With that being said, let’s wait for the future leaks and reports to reveal more about the phone. Till then, stay tuned.
