Samsung Galaxy A51 Launched in India. Comes with a Punch Hole Display & All too Familiar Specs.

Samsung is gearing up for their unpacked event which will take place on February 11. The brand will unveil its new Galaxy S20 series along with Galaxy Z Flip aka the second generation of Galaxy Fold in that event. Recently Samsung launched its Lite versions of its premium models i.e. Galaxy Note 10 Lite and Galaxy S10 Lite. Now the brand has launched the Galaxy A51 in India. The Galaxy A51 was first unveiled by the brand back in December in Vietnam. This smartphone was launched alongside the Galaxy A71 in Vietnam.

Earlier this month, Samsung started a microsite on their website for the upcoming “A” series smartphones. And the day before yesterday they confirmed the launch event. The brand has only launched the Galaxy A51 in the event, we don’t know when exactly the brand will unveil their Galaxy A71 here in India. Both the smartphones are the successors to the last years “A” series smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy A51 sports a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O Super AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The punch-hole contains the front camera and other sensors. The display also contains an in-display fingerprint scanner. The device is powered by Exynos 9611 SoC like the previous devices. The chipset is coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Further, the storage can be expanded via a micro SD card up to 512GB.

Talking about optics, the Galaxy A51 has a quad rear camera set up in an L shaped arrangement. It has a primary 48MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture value, a 5MP secondary depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture value, a 5MP tertiary macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture value, and finally a 12MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture value. To the front, it has a 32MP unit with an f/2.2 aperture value.

The Galaxy A51 is backed by 4000mAh battery which supports up to 15W quick charge which charges over type c. The device is running on One Ui 2.0 which is based on Android 10. Thankfully, Samsung didn’t remove the headphone jack. The device will be available in Prism Crush Black, White, Blue, and Pink color options. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C port

The pricing of the device starts at Rs 23,999 for the sole 6GB RAM + 128GB variant. In Vietnam, the phone was launched for almost same the price in India i.e. at VND 7,990,000 (which converts to Rs. 24,600) for the same 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. Unfortunately, the brand didn’t unveil any other variants in India. In Vietnam, it was available in 4, 6, and even in 8GB RAM and 64 and 128GB storage options. Launch offers on the device include up to 5 percent cashback while using Amazon Pay to pay for the phone. Further, the brand will also be offering a one-time free screen replacement for the buyers. The phone will go on sale from January 31 through Offline stores, Samsung official website, Samsung’s Opera House and major e-stores
