Samsung Galaxy A50 & A30 Unveiled. Sports Infinity-U Display & 4000 mAh battery



Samsung has announced its latest devices in the A series – the Galaxy A30 and the A50 right after their flagship unveil which happened a few days back. The brand has already sent out invites for an event scheduled to be held on February 28 in Mumbai where it will be revealing the pricing and availability of these devices.

The brand apparently is trying to dominate every price segments by offering better devices than it used to do before. The budget segment has the all-new M series which is currently giving good competition to Chinese brands. This year’s A series is trying to bring back the reputation of the brand in the mid-tier.

The Galaxy A50 flaunts a large 6.4-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with 1080×2340 pixel resolution. The device has 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The processor used on both the devices are not revealed yet but it is an octa-core processor. There will be 4 GB or 6 GB RAM variants to choose from coupled with 64GB or 128GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 512 GB with the help of a micro SD card.

As far as the cameras are concerned, it packs triple rear camera setup with 25 MP f/1.7 lens one being the primary lens accompanied with a 5 MP AF f/2.2 lens and 8 MP with a fixed-focus f/2.2 lens. On the front, Samsung has placed 25 MP f/2.2 lens for capturing stunning selfies. The camera app also includes plenty of functions to make use of the triple camera setup.

Bixby support is there as expected. In terms of software, it is expected to run on Android Pie but it is not confirmed yet. The device draws juice from a 4,000mAh battery. Samsung has used an in-display fingerprint sensor instead of the physical fingerprint scanner on this device.

Coming to the Galaxy A30, it also sports a large 6.4-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with 1080×2340 pixel resolution like the Galaxy A50. The RAM and storage variants available are 3/4 GB and 32/64 GB (expandable up to 512 GB) respectively.

In terms of optics, it features a dual camera setup with a primary 16 MP f/1.7 lens and a second 5 MP f/2.2 lens. The front has a 16 MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture. A 4000 mAh battery and physical fingerprint scanner will be present on the device. Both devices will support Samsung Pay and fast charging.
