Samsung Galaxy A50, A30, & A10 Unveiled. Features Super AMOLED Displays & OneUI!

Samsung announced the Galaxy A50 and the Galaxy A30 two days back in an event. It was mentioned that there would be the Indian launch of these devices. Today, the event took place in Mumbai and Samsung has provided with three new smartphones.

All the three devices feature Super AMOLED displays. The Galaxy A50 features a large 6.4-inch Full-HD+Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with 1080 x 2340 pixel resolution. The device maintains a 91.6 percent screen-to-body ratio.

Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Exynos 9610 chipset. There will be 4/6 GB RAM options to choose from. The storage provided is 64 GB which is further expandable up to 512 GB with the help of a micro SD card.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Galaxy A50 has a triple rear camera setup with 25 MP auto-focus f/1.7 lens, a 5 MP fixed-focus f/2.2 lens, and an 8 MP fixed-focus f/2.2 lens. The front camera used is a 25 MP fixed-focus f/2.0 lens. The device makes use of Samsung’s Intelligent Scene Optimiser for scene detection and optimization based on the subject.

The device has an in-display fingerprint sensor for unlocking purposes. It draws juice form 4,000mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging. The port used is USB Type-C.

Coming to the Galaxy A30, it also has a large 6.4-inch Full-HD+Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with 1080 x 2340 pixel resolution. The processor used is an octa-core Exynos 7904 with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage expandable up to 512 GB.

The camera setup in the Galaxy A30 comprises of dual rear cameras (16 MP f/1.7 lens and 5 MP f/2.2 lens) and a 25 MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The device retains a physical fingerprint scanner and packs a 4,000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging and a USB Type-C port.

The budget offering from Samsung in the series is the Galaxy A10. It has a 6.2-inch HD+ Infinity-V Display with 720×1520 pixel resolution. The processor used is an octa-core Exynos 7884 chipset. There will be 2 GB RAM coupled with 32 GB of expandable internal storage. It packs a 3,400 mAh battery.

In terms of optics, it features a single 13 MP rear sensor with f/1.9 aperture. In the front, there is a 5 MP lens with f/2.0 aperture.

The Galaxy A50 is priced at Rs. 19,990 for the 4 GB RAM/ 64GB storage version, while the 6 GB RAM/ 64GB storage goes on sale at Rs. 22,990. The phone comes in Blue, White, and Black color variants. The Galaxy A30 will be available to purchase at Rs. 16,990 while the Galaxy A10 will retail at Rs. 8,490. Both A30 and A10 will have Red, Blue, and Black color variants.

As far as the availability is concerned, the Galaxy A50 and A40 will be available to buy from the 2nd of March while the A10 will go on sale from March 20. The software used on all three devices is One UI based on Android Pie.

Vivo V15 Launched in India. Comes with Helio P70, 32MP Selfie Camera & Triple Rear Cameras!

Vivo launched the Vivo V15 smartphone in Thailand earlier this month. It is the watered-down version of the Vivo V15 Pro that has already been launched in India. However the standard Vivo V15 hadn’t made it to the country until now. Vivo officially launched the Vivo V15 in India today.

The Vivo V15 features a larger 6.53 inch 2.5D curved display with a FHD+ resolution (2340 x 1080 pixels) with Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. Like the Pro version, it misses out a top notch and punch hole and comes with a pop-up mechanism for the front-facing camera.

Under the hood, it houses a MediaTek Helio P70 chipset paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which can be further expanded to 256GB via a microSD slot. It is a bit different from the Thailand variant which comes with 128GB internal storage.

In the optics department, the device sports a triple camera setup at rear with a 12MP primary sensor with f/1.78 aperture, 8MP secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a third 5MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front gets a 32MP pop-up selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. It comes with lot of camera modes and features like wide-angle mode, AR stickers, body shape adjustment and scene recognition.

The handset runs FunTouch OS 9 based on Android 9 Pie and is backed by a 4,000 mAh battery with Dual Engine fast charging support.  There is a rear fingerprint sensor for security. Connectivity features include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac dual band, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/GLONASS and MicroUSB port.

The Vivo V15 is priced at Rs 23,990 for the single 6/64GB variant. It will be available in Royal Blue, Frozen Black and Glamour Red color options. The phone will be available for pre-orders from March 25 and will start shipping from April 1 from various online and offline channels.

Honor 10i Launched in Russia! Comes with Triple Cameras & SD710 SoC.

Honor quietly introduced the new Honor 10i in Russia. It comes with a waterdrop style notch and a 3D gradient finish on the rear. It joins the Chinese manufacturer’s other smartphones like Honor 10, Honor 10 Lite in Honor’s Portfolio.

As for the specifications, Honor 10i features a 6.21 inch display with a resolution of FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) and 19:5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Kirin 710 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

In the optics department, the device comes with a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 24MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP secondary sensor and a 2MP ultra-wide sensor. On the front, it offers an AI-powered 32MP sensor. The handset runs EMUI 9.0.1 based on Android 9 Pie. It houses a 3,400 mAh battery. Among other specifications, the phone features 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, Face Unlock and a rear fingerprint sensor.

Honor is yet to reveal the pricing of the Honor 10i while the availability of the phone is listed as ‘coming soon’. Looking at the specs, it is likely a mid-range device that will compete against the likes of Samsung M30. It will be offered in three color options with the Red and Blue variants to sport a 3D gradient finish while the Black variant will have 3D finish without any gradient. The company has also not confirmed if it plans to launch it outside Russia

Samsung has launched a new smartphone in the A-series in Russia. Dubbed as the Galaxy A20, it is launched alongside the Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A30 smartphones. The device sports a 3D Glass build and a waterdrop notch.

The Galaxy A20 features a 6.4 inch Super AMOLED Infinity-V display with a resolution of HD+ (1560 x 720 pixels). Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7884 paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage which can be further expanded to 512GB via a microSD card slot.

In the optics department, it sports a dual camera setup at the rear comprising a 13MP primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture and 5MP secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture. It offers a 8MP camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture. The handset runs Samsung’s One UI on top of Android 9 Pie and is backed by a 4,000 mAh battery. It has a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and support for Samsung Pay.

As for the pricing the Samsung A20 is priced at RUB (Rs 15,000 approx) for the single 3/32GB variant. As for now, the company is yet to announce the device’s availability in India.

The company is also expected to launch the Galaxy A60 on April 19. From recent rumours, it will have a 6.7 inch Infinity-U FHD+ display with an in-screen fingerprint sensor and powered by a SD 6150 chipset which is yet to be announced. It will be paired with 6/8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

It will have a triple camera setup of 32MP + 8MP + 5MP configuration and offer a 32MP sensor on the front. It will likely run Samsung’s One UI on top of Android 9 Pie and will be backed by a 4,000 mAh battery.
