redmi logo

Xiaomi’s Redmi seems to be working on the successor of the Redmi Y2, the Redmi Y3. The Redmi Y2 was launched back in 2018 as a camera-centric smartphone. Today, the WiFi certification of the upcoming Redmi Y3 has surfaced online.

The device bears the model number M1810F6G. According to the WiFi Alliance certification, the device will support Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and will run on Google’s Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top out of the box.

The certification ID is WFA82629 and the certified band is listed as 2.4 GHz. 5 GHz band will also be present on the device. Unfortunately, the certification does not reveal any other information regarding the key specifications of the smartphone. This device is expected to be launched in China as Redmi S3 as the Redmi Y2 was launched first in China named Redmi S2.

The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 featured a tall 5.99-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1440 × 720 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. We expect a chipset upgrade in this year’s version. The rumors state that it may come with Snapdragon 632 which powers the Redmi 7.

The Redmi Y2 had a 16 MP front camera and a dual 12 MP + 5 MP setup. Better camera sensors are expected to be placed on the Redmi Y3. The device ran on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9.5 on top, while the Redmi Y3 will indeed run MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie. It comes with a 3080 mAh battery and a rear fingerprint sensor. Higher battery capacity will be present on the Redmi Y3.

Coming to the pricing, the 3GB RAM variant of the Redmi Y2 cost Rs. 9,999 and the higher variant went for sale at a price of Rs. 12,999. Similar pricing is anticipated for the Redmi Y3 and we hope the brand does not exceed the 10k category.

We expect more information regarding the Redmi Y3 in the upcoming days. Till then, stay tuned for further updates.

Honor 9X Pro to come with Kirin 810, 48MP IMX582 Primary Camera & 20W Fast Charging!

Honor 9X series seems to be the company next launch with the Honor 9X Pro certified from FCC and China’s 3C a few days ago. The smartphone’s specifications were a mystery but now a Twitter user @RODENT950 has revealed the smartphone’s specifications. Another Twitter user who goes by the name Huawei Club has posted about the device’s alleged chipset.

According to the tweet by @RODENT950, the Honor 9X Pro will feature a punch-hole LCD with a screen size between 6.5 inches to 6.7 inches. The rear side will sport a quad camera setup consisting of a 48MP IMX582 primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP dedicated macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The front will offer a 25MP camera. He further mentions it will carry a 4,000 mAh battery with 20W fast charging and a 3D glass design.

Now, @ClubHuawei reveals that the Huawei 9X Pro will be powered by the Kirin 810 SoC. According to him, the Kirin 810 is Huawei’s upcoming mid-range 7nm SOC that has its self developed NPU. It will also be powering the upcoming Huawei Nova 5(standard version) apart from the Honor 9X Pro.

Honor’s 9X series will likely to have the standard Honor 9X and the Honor 9X Pro. They are the successor to the last year’s Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max. Considering the recent US ban on Huawei and the number of companies that have severed ties with the company including Google, the smartphones may face some problems in the near future. It is not clear whether it will run the Android-based EMUI or Huawei’s Hongmeng OS that is rumored to debut on the second half of 2019.

There is no word about the launch date but the FCC and 3C certification hints that the launch is imminent. Like its predecessors, they are likely to be launched in the Indian market.

Vivo Z1 Pro to come with SD712, Punch Hole Display. Revealed in a Hands On Video!

Vivo India has launched a teaser page for their upcoming smartphone, the Vivo Z1 Pro in their website, and it reveals some of the important specifications of the phone. Earlier it was speculated that the Vivo Z1 Pro that is to be launched in India will be a rebranded Vivo Z5x. However the newly released teaser suggests that the rumor was indeed false, and the two smartphones are entirely different.

According to the teaser in the Vivo India website, the Vivo Z1 Pro will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor. Vivo even goes further and teases that the Z1 Pro is the first Snapdragon 712 powered smartphone in India, along with the tagline ” Performance! Fully Loaded”.

The Snapdragon 712 processor is technically an overclocked Snapdragon 710, along with some new features such as support for Quick Charge 4+ and Qualcomm’s True Wireless Stereo Plus technology. The processor was announced earlier this year, and the only smartphone running on it currently is Mi 9 SE.

Coming to the design segment, the Vivo Z1 Pro comes with a punch hole camera design, which houses a 32MP in-display selfie camera, as opposed to the 16MP camera onboard the Vivo Z5x. However, there isn’t much information about the display. In the rear, there is a triple camera setup, which is believed to be a depth sensor and wide angle sensor along with the main shooter.

The Vivo Z1 Pro will be powered by a huge 5000 mAh battery, and will also have support for 18w fast charging technology. Coming to other elements, Vivo did not ditch the audio jack unlike what many other companies are doing now. Also, it comes with a traditional fingerprint sensor which is mounted at the back.

In the teaser, the Vivo Z1 Pro is shown in the Aurora color variant. While there is no release date mentioned in the teaser, we can expect it any time soon since the teaser is out.

Google Pixel 4 Spotted in the Wild, Confirms recent leaked design

Pixel leaks have already started pouring out getting off to a strong start this week. Google responded soon by providing an official image of the device. Now, a tipster for 9to5Google has spotted the Google Pixel 4 in the wild. The leak looks genuine and it lines up with the design Google provided.

The leaked images which are shared by an anonymous tipster show the device with a rear camera array and placement that is identical to the official design from Google. Though there is no way to check the authenticity of the image, we believe we are indeed looking at a real-life Pixel 4.

Since the design has been already revealed to the public, there is not much information from the leaked images. If we notice carefully, there seems to be a microphone cut-out on the top of the device. This might be the XL model given the size in the user’s hand. The phone is encased in a case which looks like a fabric design unlike the Google’s official cases for the Pixel 2, 3 and 3a.

The leak of the Pixel 4 doesn’t come as much of a surprise as it has already happened before. The first Pixel was spotted on a train and gave away the details while the Pixel 3 XL’s notch design was leaked ahead of the official launch.

The tipster shared that the device was spotted in London, but no other images of the handset were taken. However, they were able to get a quick peek at the front of the device and confirmed that the rumoured “forehead” did seem large and sports the two front cameras from the last year’s model.

There is no official date for the Pixel 4 launch but looking at the history the first Pixel was launched in October. The Pixel 2 and Pixel 3 followed the same pattern which leads to the speculation that Google will unveil the Pixel 4 sometime in the second half of October. There is also another rumour that Google will integrate its Project Soli radar chip, but it is too early to comment on how the tech will be utilized in the Pixel 4.
