The much anticipated Redmi Note 8 Series is finally here, as the company has unveiled the phones at an event in Beijing, China. At the event, at first, the Redmi Note 8 was unveiled. The Redmi Note 8 comes with a 6.3-inch display with thin bezels and a dot notch, offering 90% screen to body ratio. The phone has a gradient back and a fingerprint scanner is the 30% smaller than that on Redmi Note 7 Series.
The camera is one of the biggest highlights of the new lineup and the Redmi Note 8 gets a quad-camera setup on the back. There is a 48MP primary sensor, 8MP 120-degree ultra-wide lens, 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth camera for Portrait mode. The rear camera comes with improved night mode while on the front, there is a 13MP camera with AI beautify, Portrait mode and AI scene detection. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 and with that, the company claims reduced power consumption. The phone packs a 4,000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging. Thankfully, this time we see a USB Type-C port, even on the Redmi Note 8.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro is the main attraction in today’s event and looks like the phone would be able to match the expectations of the smartphone enthusiasts well. The Redmi Note 8 Pro sports a 3D curved glass display. The display measures at 6.53-inches with a 91.4% screen-to-body ratio and just like the Redmi Note 8, the fingerprint scanner is at the back, just below the camera module.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro is the world’s first phone, arguably, to feature a 64-megapixel camera on the back. The main 64-megapixel sensor has a large f/1.7 aperture. This camera can shoot images with resolutions as high as 9248×6936 pixels. Along with that 64-megapixel camera, there are three more sensors on the back. However, these are same as what we have seen on the Redmi Note 8- There is an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor for the portrait shots. The Redmi Note 8 Pro can shoot ultra slow-mo videos at 960 FPS. On the front, there is a 20MP camera for selfies and video calling. Redmi has partnered with TikTok in China so that TikTok Videos are incorporated in the camera options and users can create and share videos on Tiktok right from the camera app.
Apart from the camera, the Redmi Note 8 Pro focuses heavily on gaming. The phone is powered by Mediatek’s latest Helio G90T chipset, coupled with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, along with liquid cooling. The Redmi Note 8 Pro will also support the game controller that was showcased at the event. The company also unveiled a World of Warcraft Edition Redmi Note 8 Pro. There will be three variants of the Redmi Note 8 Pro, in terms of RAM and storage capacity- 6 RAM+64GB ROM, 6GB RAM+128 ROM, and 8GB RAM+128GB ROM.
The phone packs a big 4,500 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. In China, the Redmi Note 8 Pro will come with NFC as well. The Redmi Note 8 Pro is priced at 1399 Yuan for 6 RAM and 64GB ROM variant. For the 6 RAM and 128GB ROM variant, the price will be 1599 Yuan and for the top variant with 8GB RAM, the price is 1799 Yuan. If we directly convert these figures to Indian Rupees, the pricings are Rs. 14,000, Rs. 16,000 and Rs. 18,000 (Approximately).

Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro Launched in China! Comes with 108MP Penta Lens Camera!
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro is finally official, after a lot of speculations and hype build-up. It is the first smartphone to feature a 108-megapixel camera and also, the second commercial smartphone after the Nokia 9 PureView to feature a Penta camera setup on the back.
Yes, there are five cameras on the back, including the primary 108-megapixel camera. Interestingly, as of now, we know that the phone will be sold as Mi Note 10 Pro outside China so, if we refer to the phone as either Mi CC9 Pro or Mi Note 10 Pro, don’t get confused. It’s a single phone, but the Mi Note 10 Pro will be launched soon.
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro features a Full HD+ 6.47-inch edge-to-edge curved AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch with and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The display offers a breathing light which illuminates the edges of the phone when it receives a notification. The Mi CC9 Pro also features an in-display ultra-thin optical fingerprint sensor that offers a larger fingerprint recognition area. Also, it makes it possible for users to unlock the phone using dry or wet fingers.
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 730G processor, paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 storage. The base variant has 6GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage and is priced at 2799 Yuan (Rs. 28,000 approx.). The Mi CC9 Pro has the 8GB RAM and 128GB variant which has a price tag of 3099 Yuan (Rs. 31,000 approx.) and the top-variant comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard USF 3.0 storage. The top model comes with a price tag of 3499 Yuan which is almost Rs. 35,000 when converted directly.
Now, in terms of camera, which is the highlight of the phone, the Mi CC9 Pro comes with a whopping 108-megapixel camera. Along with that, there are four other lenses on the back of the phone. There are three distinct camera sections. The first one is houses three lenses, and below that there are two lenses set apart.
Now, coming to the different lenses, the first one is a 5-megapixel super-telephoto lens that offers 5x optical zoom and up to 50x hybrid zoom. Next is a 12-megapixel portrait sensor for bokeh shots which is said to be basically another telephone lens. The third sensor is the main highlight of the phone- The 108-megapixel sensor made by Samsung with f/1.7 aperture and 4-axis OIS. These are the first three lenses placed in a vertical camera module. The fourth lens is set apart, below the main section and it’s a 20-megapixel ultrawide lens with 117-degree field-of-view. The fifth and the last one is a 2-megapixel macro lens with a focal length of 1.5 cm, one of the smallest on a smartphone. Along with the Penta camera system, there is a dual-tone Quad-LED flash on the back. On the front, there’s is a 32-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The company boasted about Mi CC9 Pro’s capabilities a lot by throwing DXOMark scores as it has toped the DXOMark list, jointly with Huawei’s Mate 30 Pro.
The Mi CC9 Pro packs a huge 5,260mAh battery, the biggest on any phone from Xiaomi. Also, the phone supports 30W fast-charging. The company claims that the phone can be fully charged from 0%-100% within 65 minutes. The Mi CC9 Pro runs Android 9 Pie, but with Xiaomi’s latest MIUI 11 skin on top. in terms of connectivity, the phone has got 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, Navigation (Using A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BeiDou), IR blaster, USB-C and 3.5mm headphone jack. Pre-orders for the phone have already started in China and the phone will be available in purchase from November 11.
In terms of availability in the international market, it will be available in international markets at Mi Note 10 Pro. The phone will be launched tomorrow in Spain and then in other nations.

Moto G8 Play & Moto E6 Play Launched in South America!
Motorola recently launched its Moto G8 Plus smartphone with a 48MP camera. The Lenovo-owned company launched two more smartphones alongside it, the Moto G8 Play and the Moto E6 Play. Both the smartphones come with HD+ Max Vision displays and a gradient back.
The Moto G8 Play features a 6.2 inch Max Vision HD+ (720 x 1440 pixels) display and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P70M chipset. It has 2GB RAM and 32GB on-board storage that can be further expanded up to 512GB via microSD card.
In the optics, it sports a triple camera rear setup consisting of a 13MP primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide angle secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 117-degree field of view and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture. On the front it offers an 8MP camera that has Face Unlock.
The phone runs Android 9 Pie and is backed by a 4,000 mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi v, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/A-GPS, USB Type-C and a 3.5 mm jack. Sensors on-board include an accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light, proximity and a fingerprint sensor.
On the other hand, the Moto E6 Play features a smaller 5.5 inch Max Vision HD+ (720 x 1440 pixels) display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 295 ppi pixel density. Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6739. It is paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB on-board storage that can be further expanded up to 512GB via microSD card.
For optics, it sports a single 13MP sensor with flash and f/2.2 aperture at the back while offering a 5MP sensor at the front with Face Unlock support. The dual-SIM phone runs Android 9 Pie and is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/A-GPS, microUSB and a 3.5 mm jack. Sensors on-board include an accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light, proximity and a fingerprint sensor. It weighs 140 grams.
The Moto G8 Play is priced at BRL 1,099 (Rs 19,300 approx) for the lone 2/32GB variant and will be available in Black Onyx and Magenta Red color options. It is currently limited to Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Peru while it will reach Latin America in the coming months. The Moto E6 Play price is set at EUR 108 (Rs 8,500 approx) for the 2/32GB variant and has Ocean Blue and Steel Black color options. It is currently available in Brazil and Mexico with future planning to bring the phone to Europe starting late November. The company is yet to give any information about the Indian launch.

Motorola‘s most popular smartphone lineup (Probably) G-Series was kinda dead, due to overpriced phones and mediocre hardware on them. The Moto G6 and G7 lineup received a quite lukewarm response from consumers as well as many guys who were disappointed by just looking at the price tag and the specs sheet. But now, it looks like Motorola is back on track with the new Moto G8 Plus. The Moto G8 Plus is improved in quite a few aspects, mostly in terms of camera, chipset, and battery.
The Moto G8 Plus comes with a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and a tiny waterdrop notch. The right edge houses the power button which is textured and above that there are the volume rockers. At the bottom, there is the USB-C port, primary mic, and a speaker. Interestingly, there is another speaker. The earpiece doubles as a speaker and hence the phone provides a stereo experience.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 processor clocked at 2.0GHz and Adreno 610 GPU, coupled with 4GB of RAM. Finally, Motorola got rid of the bottlenecked chipset for a G-Series phone. In terms of the camera as well, there are quite a few interesting improvements and implementations.
The Moto G8 Plus comes with three rear cameras- A 48-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.7 aperture, a 5-megapixel depth sensor, and a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 117-degree field of view. Along with this camera triad, there’s also a laser autofocus sensor on the back. The rear camera comes with features like PDAF, up to 8x digital zoom, burst shot, auto HDR, live filter, portrait mode, manual mode, RAW photo output, slow-motion video and much more. On the front, there is a 25-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls with features like Auto HDR, Timer, Face beauty, Auto smile capture, Cinemagraph, Portrait mode, Portrait lighting, Group selfie, Spot color, Live filter, Active photos, Gesture selfie, etc.
The phone has 64GB onboard storage which can be expanded up to 512GB using a hybrid card slot, so users can either choose between using two SIM cards or use one SIM card along with a microSD card.
