Xiaomi announced its latest iteration of the Redmi Note series today in an event held at China. The major attraction of the event was indeed the Redmi Note 7. It received a lot of attraction of which the 48 MP sensor is indeed the one which created a buzz among the budget segment.
Now that the specifications of the Redmi Note 7 are out, the expectations for the Pro variant are pretty high. Right after the launch of the Redmi Note 7, the brand teased the upcoming Redmi Note 7 Pro on the stage.
The first major change in the Redmi Note 7 Pro is the sensor used in the primary camera. The Redmi Note 7 makes use of a Samsung GM1 sensor for its 48 MP sensor. But on the Redmi Note 7 Pro, the scenario gets different. It is expected to pack Sony’s IMX 586 sensor. If that sounds familiar, that is the sensor used in the Honor View20.
There are rumours regarding the chipset which is going to be utilized on the handset. A possibility of Snapdragon 675 or the flagship chipset Snapdragon 855 is expected on the handset. This might turn out to be true as Redmi is now a sub-brand and we have seen the processor used in other Xiaomi sub-brand device Poco F1.
The handset is scheduled to be unveiled on Chinese New Year which falls on the 5th of February. Other than these, we don’t expect other change in specifications and it will resemble the Redmi Note 7 which includes a 6.3-inch FHD+ LTPS display, 3/4/6 GB of RAM, 32/64 GB of internal storage, 48+5 MP rear camera, 13 MP front camera, 4000mAh battery with QC 4.0 support.
We’ll get to know if the brand has any changes in these specifications in the leaks which might take place in the upcoming days or when Redmi officially launches the product. Till then, stay tuned for updates.
