Xiaomi’s Gaming Smartphone “Blackshark” Spotted on AnTuTu Benchmark

xiaomi blackshark

Xiaomi is expanding in a rapid manner in the smartphone industry and has already occupied a place for itself in the smartphone market. The smartphone maker concentrates more on budget-oriented devices. Their strategy is to gain user’s attraction by offering powerful specifications at an affordable price without compromising on quality and user satisfaction. There was news previously that Xiaomi has been working on their Razor phone competitor, Blackshark.

Blackshark was registered in August of 2017 and the venture’s Weibo account(a microblogging website in China) states it as a mobile phone maker. It appears like Xiaomi has decided to launch Blackshark as its subsidiary brand because Blackshark’s very first smartphone has surfaced on famous benchmarking tool AnTuTu benchmark.

From the details listed on AnTuTu, it can be observed that the phone features a 2160 x 1080 resolution screen most probably with 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with 8 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. Adreno 630 GPU is used in the device. The smartphone will run on Android 8.0.0 Oreo.

This gaming-centric smartphone trend was started by Razer who recently entered into the smartphone market with the launch of the Razer Phone. Xiaomi is also planning to follow the same path but no official announcements have been made yet. If 18:9 aspect ratio gets implemented, the appearance of stereo speakers is less likely. The smartphone scores a whopping  270680 score on AnTuTu. This score paves way for the phone to be among the top five highest-rated smartphones on AnTuTu benchmark.

A 120 Hz refresh rate would be much appreciated considering the “gaming-centric” category of the phone. As far as we know, the phone will not make it to the MWC(Mobile World Congress) 2018 which is scheduled for the upcoming week.
