Realme launched its first U-series smartphone Realme U1 last month in India. The previous OPPO sub-brand may soon launch another all-new series aimed at the budget segment. The new report comes from Droidshout whose source claims that the Realme’s next budget smartphone could launch as Realme A1.
The company currently offers three budget smartphones: Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro and the Realme U1. The report informs that the Realme A1 will be placed below the Realme U1 in the company’s line-up which points to a price tag of around Rs 10,000 since the Realme U1 starts Rs 11,999. Currently, there is no information about the specs of the smartphone but it said to come that Black and Yellow color options.
The first U-series Realme U1 features a 6.3 inch IPS LCD display with a teardrop shaped notch, a resolution of FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) and protected by a 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 finish. The rear is made of acrylic with a special coating making it look like glass. Under the hood, it runs on MediaTek Helio P70 chipset coupled 3GB,4GB of RAM and 32GB,64GB internal storage which can be further expanded by a microSD card. In the optics department, the device sport a dual camera setup in the rear of 13MP + 2MP configuration the front carries offers a 25MP selfie camera. The handset runs on ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo and backed by a 3,500 mAh battery supported by a 10W charging.
Realme A1 is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2019 and is expected to launch in the Indian market before the other countries.
