Realme to Debut on Southeast Asian Markets Soon, to Launch more Devices too!

Recently Realme split up ways with Oppo to become an independent brand just like OnePlus. The brand has sold four lakh smartphones in just 40 days in the Indian market. Now it has set eyes on other international markets which will happen in the next few months.

Madhav Seth, CEO of Realme said:

We have sold around four lakh in 40 days and now we are planning  to expand our reach to Southeast Asia in the next few months

He added, 

We are the only brand right now who is having 4.5 rating on Amazon and our DNA helped us a lot to achieve that.

We are targeting youth, first-time office goers, tech-savvy and those who can compare products.

On Oppo-Realme split, Seth replied that they are a part of Oppo and added Realme is just a separate company like OnePlus. He further confirmed that it is not a separation as they still share the same DNA with just different ideologies. He clarified that by saying this he means same quality.

The company plans to launch four more smartphones within the price Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000 by the end of this year which means we will be  seeing Realme get their hands on the mid-range segment. As for recent changes, Ski Li former Vice President of Oppo had officially announced last week that he has now joined Realme a Global CEO. His email to the employees introduced the new company and said that the brand was born last year.

So far Realme has launched only one smartphone Realme 1 with three variants that went sale exclusively on Amazon India. Though it was a budget phone, Realme went ahead to bring a diamond textured back with diamond black, solar red and limited edition moonlight silver color options to appeal the youths. However it was one of the first smartphones to miss out a fingerprint sensor with support for Face Unlock.

Gionee Teases Comeback with Two new phones, to be Flipkart Exclusive!

Gionee today teased that it will be launching two new smartphones in the Indian market which go on sale exclusively via e-commerce platform Flipkart. The company has been silent for a while with the last devices from the company Gionee F205 and S11 Lite launched back seven months ago. The company is rumoured to be at the verge of bankruptcy and that its CEO lost over $1 billion in gambling.

As for the device, the new Gionee devices are said to feature FullView HD+ displays and flaunt a beautiful design along with a great camera all within a budget price tag which is understandable  as the company would not likely risk by stepping into the competitive premium smartphone market.

Other features include two variants with 2GB and 4GB RAM and a 256GB expandable storage. The upcoming smartphones may also sport a dual front camera setup of 8MP + 5MP along with autofocus and Face Unlock feature. The rear will sport a dual camera setup as well. The teasers point to an Octa core Snapdragon chipset powering the handsets.

Also, reports state that the former Gionee CEO Arvind Vohra and Pardeep Jain, the promoter of Karbonn Mobile has agreed to take 75% of Gionee’s stake in India. The reports further mention that the Indian Partner will get over ’10 years right to use the Gionee brand.’ Rumours put the deal to be worth Rs 200-250 crore along with the new brand getting the authority to operate Gionee, which is worth 125 crore.

Gionee has been reported to be facing financial deficit in China and may soon file for bankruptcy. The brand failed to pay its financial creditors, numbering around 400 suppliers, along with the marketing films which is likely the reason for its insolvency. Gionee, which once had a great success in the Chinese and the Indian markets, has now only half the human resource capacity from its factories.

Vivo Nex Dual Display Launched in China. Dual Display & 10GB RAM!

Vivo finally launched the most awaited successor of the Vivo NEX. However, it is named as Vivo Nex Dual Display Edition and not Vivo NEX 2 as expected. The device’s USP is its dual displays which is completely different to the ones found in Yotaphone and Meizu Pro 7. Also another spectacular feature of the smartphone is its 3D TOF stereo camera.

Unlike its predecessor, the Vivo Nex Dual Edition doesn’t have a pop-up selfie camera.  The presence of the secondary display eliminates the need of the selfie camera. However, it doesn’t mean that the Chinese manufacturer have given up on that design style and we may see another model in first half of 2019 with pop-up camera design.

As for the specs, the primary display is a 6.39 inch Super AMOLED bezel-less screen with a resolution of HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 19:5:9. It is almost devoid of bezels and comes with a high screen-to-body ratio of 91.63%. The secondary display is of 5.49 inch and is of Super AMOLED quality. It has a resolution of FHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 16:9. Under the hood, it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with 10GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

Vivo Introduces Futuristic Dual Display Smartphone for “NEX-Level” Multifaceted Experience

The device sports a triple camera setup with a primary 12MP camera with f/1.79 aperture and OIS m a secondary 2MP “Night Video” with f/1.8.The third one is a 3D TOF (time of flight) which will be mainly used for advanced Face Unlock feature. However, it’s not limited to that and offers features like personalized beautification, 3D face modelling.

With the help of secondary display the cameras offer features like Mirror Mode and Pose Director The two main sensors are circled by a LED “Lunar ring” while the LED flash is placed on the extreme left. The ring light illuminates in camera ticking, gameplay, and couple of other occasions.

The handset runs on FunTouch OS 4.5 based on Android 9.0 Pie and support from Vivo’s JOVI voice assistant. It comes with AI screen recognition, Body and Face Shaping.  It is backed by a 3,500 mAh battery with support for 2.25A 10V fast charging. There is also an in-display fingerprint sensor embedded in the display.

The Vivo Nex Dual Edition is priced at 4,998 Yuan (Rs 52,000 approx) in Star Purple and Ice Field color variants. It will go on sale from December 29 and is up for pre-order in China via local retailers like Jingdong (JD.com), Tmall, Suning. The company has not given any word on the global release of the smartphone but we expect it to happen eventually.

Poco F1 gets a permanent Price Cut! All Variants are now priced Rs.1000 Lower.

Xiaomi announced the first smartphone under its new sub-brand POCO back in August. The Poco F1 was a hit and took the world by storm. It was initially  priced at Rs 20,999 and made available through flash sales but later the Chinese manufacturer started an open sale. It is now available through Mi Store, Flipkart and Mi Home stores. Ahead of this year ending, the company has announced a permanent price cut or the device.

The 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage variant was priced at 20,990 while the same variant with 128GB on-board storage was priced Rs 23,999. The highest variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage came with a price tag of RS 28,999. However, starting today all the variants of the smartphone are going to cost 1,000 less which means the starting price of the smartphone will be Rs 19,990 while the other two will be costing Rs 22,999 and 27,999 respectively. The slashing of the price is permanent, which means you don’t have to worry about the price going up later on.

The device was already in demand and with the price cut, the sales are expected to go higher. Xiaomi also announced in its official twitter account that the Poco F1 has crossed the 7,00,000 users mark. To celebrate this occasion, the company is taking Rs 1,000 off of all Poco variants. Though this is a great move, several users who have recently purchased the phone have taken to the forms and Twitter to complain about the price drop. However, this is simply a marketing move to increase the sales now that all the hype of the Pocophone has settled down.

The Poco F1 features a 6.2 inch display and is powered by a SD 845. It sports a dual camera setup of 12MP + 5MP and a 20MP selfie camera. A top notch at the front houses an infrared camera for 3D facial recognition. It is backed by a 4,000 mAh battery and runs on MIUI 10 based on Android 8.1 Nougat. It recently received a new software update including features like slow motion at 960FPS and super-low light recording mode. The beta version of the MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie was rolled out recently and expected to be available to a wider audience by this month or early January.
