Lenovo S5 Pro

After quite a lot of leaks and rumors, the Chinese giant Lenovo has finally launched the all-new Lenovo S5 Pro with a Notched Display and Quad Cameras in China. The device comes at a competitive price and will succeed the Lenovo S5– a not so successful phone which came back in March, this year. Let us talk about the device in detail.

The Lenovo S5 Pro comes in aluminum unibody construction in Black, Pure Gold, and Ice Blue color options which make it look good and look premium. The front sports a 6.2-inch IPS LCD Display with a Full-HD+ resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio, thanks to the Notch on top which also houses the 3D facial recognition setup.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with Adreno 512 GPU, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage which can be further expanded using the given MicroSD card slot.

In the optics department, the Lenovo S5 Pro gets a total of four cameras. The back houses a dual camera setup comprising of a 20-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel secondary shooter which allow for a lossless 2X optical zoom, while at the front we have another dual camera combination of a 20-megapixel primary sensor paired with an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, along with the IR camera and other sensors necessary for the 3D face unlock which seems quite interesting for the price. The cameras are further aided by certain AI features including automatic scene recognition, Beauty mode, etc for enhanced results.

On the software front, the device runs on Lenovo’s own ZUI on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. Other notable features include a stereo speaker setup present on the bottom grill. In addition to the face unlock, we have the fingerprint scanner present on the back of the handset. Powering the phone is a 3,500mAh battery which supports fast charging.

Coming to the pricing, the Lenovo S5 Pro is priced at CNY1398 in China which roughly sums to Rs.14,800. The device will definitely do good in India if it comes at a competitive price, just like in China. The dual front and dual rear cameras, 2x optical zoom, stereo speakers and IR-based 3D Face Unlock is something which will differentiate this phone from others.
