The Google Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3XL are indeed one of the most awaited devices of this year. As usual, Google will unveil its Pixel 3 lineup in mid-October. Though unreleased, the device has already made its online appearance with the recently leaked images. Lately, there have been leaks and rumours about a mid-range Pixel smartphone as well.
Now, we have few leaks sourced from OnLeaks, including few 5K CAD-based renders in addition to a 360-degree video, showcasing the upcoming Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3XL.
The renders hint towards the fact that Google will be adopting the Notch trend by including a Notch on its Pixel 3XL, similar to most of the recently launched smartphones. However, Pixel 3 won’t be following the same arena, instead, it has bezels on top and bottom, indicating that it follows the similar design language from its predecessor. Fortunately, the bezels are relatively thin and look less ugly compared to the Pixel 2.
Both the devices, especially the Pixel 3XL, will bear high screen to body ratio. The Pixel 3 is expected to come with a smaller 5.4-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio while the Pixel 3XL will sport a 6.2-inch display and a taller 19:9 aspect ratio due to the presence of Notch.
Though the renders showcase dual front cameras, one may be just an ambient light sensor mistaken as a secondary shooter. Both of the smartphones carry Dual front-facing speakers for a stereo output from their siblings. The Pixel 3 seems quite compact measuring 145.6 x 68.2 x 7.9mm, while the Pixel 3 XL measures 158 x 76.6 x 7.9mm with an expected thickness of 8.6mm including the rear camera protrusion.
More importantly, the renders showcase the presence of a single rear camera, completely discarding the rumours of including Dual lenses. In addition to the camera and flash, the rear houses a fingerprint sensor as well, hurting the possibility of an in-display solution.
The design profile looks a lot similar to the previous generation. The top part of the back is constructed out of glass and rest is aluminium, similar to the Pixel 2. Also, except for the size and Notch, there is not much difference in the design of new contenders. And though the single-camera seems a bit disappointing, we expect Google to play some other tricks and prove the worth of its image processing once again.
Let’s see what innovation Google actually brings in, till then, stay tuned.
Mi 9 Camera Specs & Pricing Revealed! Also to come with Smaller Chin & Sapphire Glass Lens Cover.
A few days ago Xiaomi officially revealed their upcoming flagship smartphone, the Mi 9. Mi 9 is scheduled to be launched on Feb 20, just four days from now, in China. However, the details of the Mi 9 was not revealed by the company at the time of revealing.
Now Xiaomi has left the fans surprised by giving out detailed information about the Triple camera setup on board the Mi 9. They also released camera samples to show the capabilities of the camera.
Along with the details about the camera, Xiaomi also gave some hints about the Mi 9 display along with the upcoming space grey variant of the device. The camera samples were released through the official Twitter handle of Xiaomi earlier today. The camera samples included the pictures taken using individual lenses in the triple camera setup. The main sensor is a 48MP, f/1.75, 6P lens unit employing the 4-in-1 Super Pixel technology. The Super Pixel technology, also known as pixel binning, extends the 12MP to an effective resolution of 48MP.
The secondary camera is a 16MP ultra wide sensor capable of capturing 117 degree FOV (Field of View) with f/2.2 aperture and a 6P lens configuration. It is capable of taking 4cm macro shots according to the camera samples. It means that the Mi 9 will be able to focus on objects from just 4cm away without losing the details. The 16MP secondary lens also supports Auto-Focus. Apparently, it uses an anti-distortion algorithm for loseless photography as revealed by Xiaomi co-founder in a post on Weibo. Both the 48MP primary and 16MP secondary sensors on board the Mi 9 employs a ‘closed loop motor’.
The third one is a telephoto lens capable of 2x optical zoom with 1 micron pixel size, f/2.2 aperture with autofocus and a 6P lens configuration as seen in the other two sensors. There is a 20MP front shooter with AI beautification features for the selfie buffs out there.
Getting scratches on the camera lens has always been a pain for every smartphone user. But, in the Mi 9, Xiaomi has got it all covered by deploying a layer of sapphire glass which is strong enough to resist the scratches from everyday use.
Other camera features includes the use of laser auto focus, utilizing a combination of PDAF and CDAF. Speaking of other attractions, the Mi 9’s chin is just 3.4mm thin and is about 40% slimmer than the Mi 8 according to reports. I will be sporting a Snapdragon 855 SoC and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The Xiaomi co-founder also shared an image of the Mi 9’s space grey colour variant flaunting a glossy finish, making it the third color variant apart from the pink and blue gradient variant which were revealed already.

Sony Xperia L3 Specs, Renders, & Price Leaked. Comes with Side Fingerprint Sensor and Android 8.1 Oreo!
Sony is finally planning to unveil to launch a successor for the Xperia L2 which got launched last year. The device is scheduled to be launched in Mobile World Congress (MWC 2019) which will be held in Barcelona.
The Sony Xperia L3 is certainly a bump in terms of specifications when compared with its predecessor L2 which is definitely outdated at this point. We have seen leaked CAD renders of the L3 in the past. Key specifications, renders, and the expected price of the Xperia L3 has leaked online today.
According to the sources, the upcoming Xperia L3 will feature a 5.7-inch display with 1440 x 720 pixel resolution. The display is of 18:9 aspect ratio. It will be equipped with 3 GB of RAM which will be coupled with 32 GB of internal storage. There is no information regarding the processor used in the device, but we expect it to be a mid-range Snapdragon one.
As far as the cameras are concerned, there is a dual rear camera setup on the handset along with an LED flash. The primary sensor will be a 13 MP one while the secondary sensor will be of 2 MP for portrait shots. On the front, an 8 MP camera will be present on the handset.
The bottom of the handset sports the speaker grill, USB type-C port, and the top will have the 3.5 mm headphone jack. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the side of the device. The handset will draw juice from a 3300 mAh battery. In terms of software, it will run on Android 8.1 Oreo which is quite disappointing as Google is gearing up for its Android Q release and shipping Android Oreo out of the box doesn’t seem to be a good move.
The pricing of the device is expected to be 199 euros which approximately equals to Rs.16,000. The availability will be known after the device gets launched. Till then, stay tuned for updates.
