The Google Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3XL are indeed one of the most awaited devices of this year. As usual, Google will unveil its Pixel 3 lineup in mid-October. Though unreleased, the device has already made its online appearance with the recently leaked images. Lately, there have been leaks and rumours about a mid-range Pixel smartphone as well.
Now, we have few leaks sourced from OnLeaks, including few 5K CAD-based renders in addition to a 360-degree video, showcasing the upcoming Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3XL.
The renders hint towards the fact that Google will be adopting the Notch trend by including a Notch on its Pixel 3XL, similar to most of the recently launched smartphones. However, Pixel 3 won’t be following the same arena, instead, it has bezels on top and bottom, indicating that it follows the similar design language from its predecessor. Fortunately, the bezels are relatively thin and look less ugly compared to the Pixel 2.
Both the devices, especially the Pixel 3XL, will bear high screen to body ratio. The Pixel 3 is expected to come with a smaller 5.4-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio while the Pixel 3XL will sport a 6.2-inch display and a taller 19:9 aspect ratio due to the presence of Notch.
Though the renders showcase dual front cameras, one may be just an ambient light sensor mistaken as a secondary shooter. Both of the smartphones carry Dual front-facing speakers for a stereo output from their siblings. The Pixel 3 seems quite compact measuring 145.6 x 68.2 x 7.9mm, while the Pixel 3 XL measures 158 x 76.6 x 7.9mm with an expected thickness of 8.6mm including the rear camera protrusion.
More importantly, the renders showcase the presence of a single rear camera, completely discarding the rumours of including Dual lenses. In addition to the camera and flash, the rear houses a fingerprint sensor as well, hurting the possibility of an in-display solution.
The design profile looks a lot similar to the previous generation. The top part of the back is constructed out of glass and rest is aluminium, similar to the Pixel 2. Also, except for the size and Notch, there is not much difference in the design of new contenders. And though the single-camera seems a bit disappointing, we expect Google to play some other tricks and prove the worth of its image processing once again.
Let’s see what innovation Google actually brings in, till then, stay tuned.
Blackberry Ghost & Ghost Pro To Launch as Blackberry Evolve & Evolve Pro
Earlier we knew that Blackberry’s Indian licensee, Optiemus would be launching two new Blackberry smartphones- Blackberry Ghost and Ghost Pro. Even the previous reports and leaks referred to the phones using that name. However, today, popular tipster Even Blass has said out that the phones will be named as Blackberry Evolve and Evolve Pro. He further clarified that ‘Ghost’ was just a codename for the device.
Apparently the Ghost and Ghost Pro from India's Optiemus are coming to market as the BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X.
— Evan Blass (@evleaks) July 17, 2018
The device, codenamed Blackberry Ghost was a thing for the first time a few months back and then some renders emerged. Recently we heard that the phone will pack a big 4000mAh battery.
One more Ghost tidbit: it's got a 4,000mAh battery, which would be one of the largest in a flagship-class device.
— Evan Blass (@evleaks) July 5, 2018
As of now, the rumors claim that the Blackberry Evolve and Evolve X will sport a futuristic look from 2018, i.e. a bezel-less display. However, we are not quite sure about the implementation of the bezel-less design as the renders showed no sign of notch. Though the renders point towards a glass and metal build. In other markets, Blackberry partnered with TCL, but even with those phones, Blackberry seemed to stick with mid-sized batteries with only one exception- Blackberry Motion. Blackberry Motion is the only smartphone from the brand packing a huge 4000mAh battery.
There is no info regarding the launch of Blackberry Evolve and Evolve Pro, but the Optiemus made Blackberry phones may be exclusive in India and may mark the starting of a bezel-less design era for Blackberry.
