Optiemus Launches BlackBerry Evolve & Evolve X in India!

Optiemus Infracom today launched the Blackberry Evolve & Evolve X in India.They have been conceptualised, designed and manufactured in the country only. Prevoiously codenamed Ghost and Ghost pro, they were teased earlier this week.

The BlackBerry Evolve and the Evolve X comes with Series 7000 Aluminium frame, texturised and rubberised back panel and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.They feature a 5.99 inch FullView LTPS IPS LCD display with a resolution of FHD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels), an aspect ratio of 18:9, 500 nits brightness and oleophobic coating. They runs the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

Under the hood, the BlackBerry Evolve is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC, paired with an Adreno 506 GPU coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. On the other hand the Evolve X houses an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC along with an Adreno 512 GPU. It is coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage expandable via microSD card upto 2 TB.

The BlackBerry  Evolve comes with an dual camera setup of two 13-megapixel sensors that come with f/2.0 aperture, RGB+Mono mode, and dual tone LED flash while the Evolve X also  sports a dual rear camera setup of a 12MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 1.4-micron pixels and a 13MP secondary sensor with f/2.6 aperture and 1.0-micron pixels with a 6P lens and dual tone LED flash.Both the smartphones offer a 16MP on the front with f/2.0 aperture, 78-degree FoV, Tetra Pixel technology, real-time bokeh mode, and LED flash.

The smartphones come with BlackBerry Power Centre app which uses deep learning technology to analyse your usage and optimise according to it. Additionally you can modify RAM allocation to different apps and make custom battery profiles. The BlackBerry Hub combines all your social media profiles into one app. There is a BlackBerry Password Keeper app that keeps your passwords protected in a vault and helps in creating new passwords. Moreover the BlackBerry Privacy Shade reduces the screen size to the area you are accessing and has a root protection options available with OS hardening.

The two BlackBerry smartphones are backed by 4,000 mAh battery but only the Evolve X comes with support for Wireless charging. Other features include a fingerprint sensor which claims a response time of 0.3 seconds and Face Unlocking which the company claims an unlock time of 0.4 seconds.Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, FM radio, USB Type-C with OTG, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. They both support built-in Dolby audio support.

The BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X comes with a price tag of Rs 24,990 and Rs 34,990 and will go on sale in August and September respectively. They will be available from Amazon India and offline stores.Launch offers include 5 percent from ICICI Bank credit cards with no EMI plane. Additional benefits from Reliance Jio is available worth Rs. 3,950. Currently there is no word about its launch outside India.

Lenovo Z6 Youth Edition Launched in China! SD710 & Triple rear cameras!

Lenovo is back with a new device to the Z6 series, Z6 Youth. The details of the device was spreading on the web for the last 2 weeks. It is the down version of its sibling Lenovo Z6 Pro. It’s similar to it’s elder sibling in some areas but other than the name, mostly there isn’t much common. There is a triple camera setup instead of the quad camera. It has in-display fingerprint sensor like Z6 Pro though.

The device spots a 6.3 inch FHD+ display with a waterdrop notch. The aspect ratio is 19:5:9 and the display is HDR10 capable. It is powered by Snapdragon 710 SoC which is based on 10nm coupled with Adreno 616 GPU. The device is available in three variants i.e 4GB/64GB storage, 6GBRAM/64GB storage, and 6GB RAM/64GB storage options. Further all of these can be expanded up to 256GB with microSD.

Talking about optics it has triple rear camera setup with a 16MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP with f/2.4 telephoto lens with 8x hybrid zoom and a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 . To the front it has a 16MP camera for capturing awesome selfies.

The device runs on Android Pie on top of ZUI 11. The device is packed by 4050 mAh battery which supports 15W fast charging. Further it has a headphone jack, type c port and a hybrid sim slot. The device is available in Knight Black and Magic Stardust colors.

The Lenovo Z6 Youth edition is priced at 1199 yuan (approx 12.5K INR) for 4/64 GB, 1399 yuan (approx 14.5K INR) for the 6/64 GB, and 1699 yuan (approx 18K INR) for the 6/128 GB option. Adding to this, you can pre-order the device. The first sale of the phone starts officially in China on May 28.

Infinix S4 Launched in India! Comes with 32MP Selfie Camera, Triple Cameras &a

After the launch of the Smart 3 Plus, Infinix has launched the Infinix S4 in the Indian market. The budget smartphone comes with premium features like a triple camera setup. The company has also launched the X Band 3 fitness band alongside the smartphone. It has a real-time heart rate monitoring feature and up to 20-day battery life.

The Infinix S4 features a 6.21 inch display with a resolution of HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels), 19:5:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass display protection. Under the hood, there is a Helio P22 octa-core chipset paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage that can be further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.

In the optics department, there is a triple camera setup at the back with a 13MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 8MP 120-degrees ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP sensor with a Quad LED flash. On the front, it offers a 32MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. It comes with features such as auto scene detection across eight modes including portrait, text, night, backlight HDR, blue sky, sports, and others.

The dual SIM handset runs on XOS 5.0 based on Android 9 Pie and is backed by a 4,000 mAh battery. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v5, micro USB port, 3.5 mm audio jack while sensors onboard include proximity sensor, G-sensor, light sensor, and compass. It has a rear fingerprint sensor but supports Face Unlocking as well. It measures 156 x 75 x 7.9 mm and weighs 155 grams.

The Infinix S4 is priced at Rs. 8,999 for the single variant and will be available in Nebula Blue, Space Grey, and Twilight Purple color options. The phone will be available for purchase on Flipkart from May 28 at 12 PM. The X Band 3, on the other hand, comes at a price tag of Rs. 1,599 and will be available on Flipkart from June 4.

Honor 20 Pro & Honor 20 Launched! Comes with 48MP Quad Cameras, Kirin 980 & Android (yes, it is)!

Honor today launched its Honor 20 series of smartphones at an event in London. The event first saw the launch of the Honor 20 Pro and the Honor 20 after that. The Honor 20 Lite has already been announced in Malaysia and UK.

The Honor 20 Pro and the Honor 20 are quite similar in terms of looks. Usually with smartphones, the Pro variant comes with a bigger display. But both the models feature a 6.26 inch “All-View” IPS LCD display with a 4.5 mm punch hole in the top left corner. The company claims the hole punch to be the smallest resulting in a screen-to-body ratio of 91.6%.

Coming to the back of the smartphone, the Honor 20 series comes with a “Dynamic Holographic Design” that employs a two-stage process to create a 3D curved glass back with a “depth-inducing” optical effect. Both the smartphones have quad camera setup on the rear, though the Pro has slightly better hardware. Instead of introducing a rear fingerprint sensor or an under-display one, Honor went for a side mounted fingerprint sensor which is more practical.

The Honor 20 Pro has a combination of 48MP primary camera, 16MP Super-Wide angle, 8MP telephoto, and a 2MP macro lens. On the other hand the Honor 20 sports a 48MP primary camera, 16MP Super-Wide angle, 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. The Pro variant’s 48MP camera has a wider f/1.4 aperture and OIS. On the front, the devices offer a 32MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. Honor’s “AIS Super Night Mode” also makes a return for low-light photography. Additionally, there is a 30X digital zoom and a handheld “moon shot” on the Pro.

Under the hood, the Honor 20 Pro and the Honor 20 is powered by the latest 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB internal storage (UFS 2.1) with no expandable memory. They run on Magic UI 2.1 based on Android 9 Pie with upgraded GPU Turbo 3.0. Despite the ban on Huawei for using Android, Honor has launched the phone with Android based Magic UI.

The company has also partnered with Epic games to allow Fortnite at 60fps. The Pro variant has a slightly bigger battery at 4,000 mAh while the standard variant comes with a 3,750 mAh one. They both support 22.5W SuperCharge 1.0. There is also support for “Virtual 9.1 Surround Sound” and “AI frequency compensation’ to reduce earphone irritation and fatigue.

The Honor 20 pricing starts at 499 Euros (Rs 38,500 approx) for the 6/128GB variant while the Pro variant with 8/256GB variant will cost 599 Euros (Rs 46,500 approx). It will be available in 4 color options: Midnight Black and Safari Blue for the base model and Phantom Blue and Phantom Black for the higher-end model. In India, the company has joined hands with Flipkart for the sale of smartphones.
