Oppo Reno is the latest flagship phone lineup from Oppo. After the first from the lineup, Oppo Reno was launched, it created a huge buzz in the smartphone users community. Just at the starting of this month, we came to know that Oppo is working on the next Reno, and also, we came to know that the phone will launch first in India. Today, more details have emerged and this time, the info we have right now is official.
However, at that time nothing was official. But today, Oppo has officially teased the next phone from Oppo Reno lineup. The phone is named Oppo Reno2, which is a bit of surprise as Oppo is named their phones in quite a complex way. Anyway, the Oppo Reno2 will be launched first in India, as speculated on August 28.

This is quite a big step for a brand like Oppo and this somehow indicates that the company is willing to trade on dangerous grounds by introducing flagship phones first in India. Here’s the teaser, in case you haven’t seen it yet.
The company, in the teaser, mentioned a thing or two about the special features of the phone. Oppo Reno2 will come with quad-camera setup on the back and will have 20x zoom. This is a huge leap from the current Oppo Reno smartphone, which has a 10x zoom. However, there is no word regarding what kind of technologies the company is using on the phone or which camera sensor is being used on Oppo Reno2.
But well, the official teaser wasn’t enough for smartphone enthusiasts it seems. An account by the name Fengchao Technology on Weibo, posted on China’s Facebook that the Oppo Reno2 will have a 48-megapixel primary camera. Along with it, there will be a 13-megapixel telephoto lens, which will offer a 20x zoom. He suggested that there will be an 8-megapixel super wide-angle lens and there will be a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. The 2-megapixel monochrome sensor is something pretty uncommon on smartphones.
Also, just now it has been brought to our notice that a new Oppo device bearing the PCKM70 model number has passed through China’s Compulsory Certification Agency (CCC). The listing reveals that the phone comes with Oppo’s proprietary VOOC 3.0 for 20W fast charging and supports 5G connectivity. As of now, as flagship phones are the only ones getting 5G support, so it won’t be surprising if Oppo Reno2 supports 5G as well or if Oppo brings a separate 5G variant of Oppo Reno2. However, as these are unofficial pieces of info from different sources, I would advise you to take it with a pinch of salt. For more coverage regarding Oppo Reno2, keep visiting OnPhones!
