OPPO is all set to unveil the OPPO Reno on April 10. The smartphone has already been subjected to multiple leaks though we didn’t get a clear view of the front design of the phone. Today, a hands-on video of the OPPO Reno surfaced on Weibo revealing its design aspects. The video confirms the Reno will sport a unique pop-up selfie camera.
The leaked video starts with by showcasing the rear design of the upcoming smartphone. The rear side is equipped with vertically arranged dual cameras consisting of a 48MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor paired with a 5MP depth sensor. The device shown might be the Snapdragon 710 edition of the OPPO Reno that is rumoured to be called as OPPO Reno Lite.
From another report, case renders of the OPPO Reno SD 710 variant surfaced online. Vivo has already adopted it this year on the Vivo V15 Pro while the OnePlus 7 leaks suggest the same. However, OPPO Reno takes the technology to a whole new level. The selfie camera slides out at an inclined angle which is approximately 30-degree. The housing also contains an LED flash and the earpiece. It’s unlike anything we have seen and is yet to be included it in any smartphone. The sensor is reported to be of 16MP.
The top edge of the module contains the earpiece. When the pop-out module reverts back to its place, the earpiece remains visible on the frame of the device. In the close state the handset pumps out sound via the five holes on the frame. There is an audio jack and a USB Type-C port at the bottom. Since there is no visible fingerprint scanner, it will likely have an under display one.
The Snapdragon 855 variant of the OPPO Reno will have three camera sensors. It consists of a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP secondary senosor and a 13MP periscope zoom lens offering 10X hybrid zoom. The Chinese manufacturer will also be launching a 5G variant of the smartphone. OPPO is yet to reveal the price of the handset.
