OPPO Reno 10X Zoom & Reno Launched in India!

OPPO finally introduced its latest Reno series with the launch of the flagship OPPO Reno 10X Zoom at an event in New Delhi, India. The Chinese manufacturer also launched a standard OPPO Reno variant with an identical design. The smartphones were introduced in China last month. This latest launch takes the company to the next level, who has been so far successful on the mid-range segment. Let’s take a look at what the device offers.

The OPPO Reno 10x comes in a sleek, unified body with a mixture of glossy and a matte finish with gradient options. It features a massive 6.6 inch FHD+ OLED display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. It has sleek bezels and no notch which gives a high screen-to-body ratio of 93.1%. The panoramic screen comes with a fingerprint sensor underneath it. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 built on 7nm process paired with an Adreno 640 GPU. It is available in two variants: 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage.

As the name suggests, the USP of the OPPO Reno 10X Zoom is its camera configuration which was first showcased at the MWC event this year. It sports a triple camera setup at the rear consisting of a 48MP Sony IMX 586 primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 13MP telephoto lens with f/3.0 aperture. The triple lens works together to achieve a 10X Hybrid Zoom without any loss in the image quality. The company claims that this 10X Hybrid Zoon technology is a mixture of Fusion, image fusion technology where the three lenses interchange to give a smooth zoom transition.

The front offers a unique pop-up camera which comes in a Shark Fin Rising structure and is comparatively beautiful to look at compared to the regular pop-up ones. The sensor is a 16MP one with f/2.0 aperture and is capable of recording videos at 720p and 1080p at 30fps. The rear cameras come with features like Ultra Night Mode 2.0 for low-light photography. It has support for multi-frame noise reduction technology and features AI-powered Portrait for low-light environments. There is also a Natural AI beautification and video support at 60/30fps 3S-Lut Cinematic 4K Video recording.

The smartphone comes with not one but three different cooling technologies consisting of a cooling gel, triple graphite layering and copper pipes keeping the temperature at bay, especially during high intensive gaming sessions. It also has a Game Boost 2.0 mode for optimized gameplay. The handset runs ColorOS 6 based on Android 9 Pie and is backed by 4065mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 support. Additional features include 3.5 mm headphone jack, Hi-Res audio certified stereo speakers Dolby Atmos support and more.

The OPPO Reno standard variant has a smaller 6.4 inch OLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensor. It houses a Snapdragon 710 coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. There is a dual camera setup on the rear with a 48MP + 5MP configuration with no optical zooming features. On the front, it has the same 16MP camera and is backed by a 3765mAh battery.

The OPPO Reno 10X Zoom pricing starts at Rs 39,000 for the 6/128GB variant while the higher 8/256GB variant costs Rs 49,000. It will be available in Fog Sea Green and Extreme Night Black colors. The standard edition with 8/128GB configuration is priced at Rs 32,000 and comes in Fog Sea Green, Extreme Night Black, Nebula Purple, and Pink Mist color options. They are exclusively available on Flipkart with pre-orders starting today and will go on sale from June 7.
