OPPO R17 & R17 Pro passes TENAA certification

Published

OPPO R17

The upcoming flagships from OPPO i.e. the OPPO R17 and the OPPO R17 Pro have earlier passed through China’s 3C. We also witnessed the previously leaked live images of the OPPO R17. Now, as per the new reports, both the smartphones have received certification from TENAA. Note that the device was reported to pass TENAA earlier too which was most probably a result of misinterpretation.

The images included in the listing reveal the design and main features of both the devices. The OPPO R17 image hints towards a full-view display at the front. The device comes with a small Notch (as seen in the previously leaked images) with the sole purpose of housing the front camera, similar to the Essential Phone and the upcoming OPPO F9 which too has appeared in quite a lot of leaks. The volume rockers are discretely placed on the left side while the power button is present on the opposite side.

The device has rounded corners and the back seems to be crafted out of glass. The back also houses a vertically stacked Dual Camera setup at the median along with a dual LED flash and an egg-shaped fingerprint scanner above the Oppo branding.

Now, coming to the OPPO R17 Pro, the images indicate a similar design with few changes here and there. The back looks exactly the same as seen above but lacks a fingerprint scanner which is absent on the front as well. In that case, we may assume for a while that it’ll come with the IR based Face Unlock which is not possible as the notch is too small to house anything in addition to the camera and Oppo won’t rely on software-based facial recognition system for a flagship. This fuels up another speculation of the presence of an in-display fingerprint scanner which was hinted in previous reports too.

Given that both the devices have appeared on TENAA, we can expect them to be unveiled soon by the company. There is no exact information about the specifications yet. Let’s wait for upcoming leaks and reports. Till then, Stay tuned.
