OPPO A9x Launched in China. Comes with 48MP camera & 4020 mAh battery

OPPO today launched the OPPO A9x in China which is a slightly improved variant of the OPPO A9 which was launched last month. It is a mid-range handset and only has minor differences compared to the A9.

The OPPO A9x features a 6.53 inch FHD+ display with a small water-drop notch on top and 90.7% screen-to-body ratio of 90.7%. Under the hood, it is powered by a 2.1 GHz MediaTek Helio P70 octa-core chipset paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage that can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card.

The real difference between the OPPO A9x and the OPPO A9 lies in the camera section. The former comes with a dual camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor with f/1.7 aperture and LED flash. The 48MP sensor will be using 4-in-1 pixel binning to achieve an impressive 1.6µm pixel size. The front offers a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture placed on the top notch.

The dual-SIM handset runs on ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9 Pie and comes with features such as GameBoost 2.0. It draws power from a 4,020 mAh battery with support for VOOC 3.0 fast charging support. Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS/GLONASS. It has a fingerprint sensor at the rear for security. The OPPO A9x pricing starts at 1999 Yuan (Rs 20,500) approx and will be offered in Ice Jade White and Meteorite Black color options. It will be available for purchase in China from May 21. The company has not said anything about the smartphone’s launch in global markets.
