After its recent OnePlus 7T launch, OnePlus today launched the OnePlus 7T Pro at an event in London. It is the successor to the OnePlus 7 Pro and follows a similar design language. In addition, the company also launched the McLaren Edition of the OnePlus 7T Pro.
The OnePlus Launch Event started with the company’s co-founder Carl Pei on the stage. He talked about OxygenOS claiming that it is one of the three reasons the fans love the company. Pei revealed some of the new features that debuted with the OxygenOS 10 like landscape app switching, updated Zen mode, improved OnePlus Gallery and new customization options. After that Google’s Andrei Popescu took the stage to talk about Android 10 improvements on all fronts, including Digital Wellbeing, Privacy, and Security.
OnePlus’s Akin Evangelidis then joined the stage to reveal the OnePlus 7T Pro. It comes with a smooth, responsive and vivid 6.67-inch Fluid AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution (3120 x 1440 pixels). It has a 90Hz refresh rate and supports HDR10+. The edges of the display are curved like the OnePlus 7 Pro and the OnePlus 7T. It aims to deliver an immersive viewing and multimedia experience. Like previous OnePlus devices, it comes with a Reading Mode that supports full-color content.
OnePlus smartphones give importance to camera upgrades and the OnePlus 7T Pro is no exception. It gets a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with 7P lens structure, f/1.6 aperture, and OIS. It is coupled with a 16MP ultra-wide secondary sensor with a 117-degree field of view and an 8MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture and 3X zoom. The camera app has Super Macro mode and Nightscape Mode and supports HIS (Hybrid Image Stabilization) for stable videos. On the front, it offers a 16MP pop-up camera.
Like the OnePlus 7T, 7T Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. It runs OxygenOS 10 on top of Android 10 and is backed by a 4,080 mAh battery with 30W Warp Charge 30T support. The McLaren Edition shares almost the same specifications with a new papaya orange finish that is seen on the edges, camera module, and notification slider. There are some software tweaks as well like custom icons, exclusive animation, themes, and wallpapers.
The OnePlus 7T Pro is priced at Rs 53,999 while the McLaren Edition will cost Rs 58,999.
