Huawei Launches Mate 30 Series Globally!

Huawei has expanded its flagship phone lineup today, by introducing the Huawei Mate 30 Series of smartphones. At an event in Munich, Germany, the company has introduced the all-new Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro. And it looks like that the leaks were correct in most parts for either of the phones.

Both the Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro comes with a camera module that has a kinda circular design, which Huawei calls as Halo Ring Design. Within that circle, there are the camera lenses along with the LED flash. Both the phones come with cameras engineered in collaboration with Leica. However, there are differences in terms of different sensors used on these phones.

The Huawei Mate 30 comes with a primary 40-megapixel camera with an f/1.8 aperture along with an ultra-wide-angle 16-megapixel camera, an 8-megapixel f/2.4 telephoto camera, and a laser focus sensor. And well, though the primary sensor remains that same on the Mate 30 Pro, there is a 40-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, with an aperture of f/1.8, and instead of the laser focus sensor, there is a 3D depth sensor. In terms of camera capabilities, Huawei claims a few World’s First Titles for any smartphone like 4K video at 60 fps, 7680fps Ultra slow-mo, 4K HDR+, ISO 51200 for video capturing, real time bokeh for video! There are OIS and AIS image stabilization and support for 3x optical and 30x digital zoom.

The Huawei Mate 30 Pro has a 6.53-inch curved display around all the edges, the first of its kind and Huawei calls it as Horizon Display. The regular Mate 30 has a 6.62-inch flat display. Huawei has also ditched the conventional physical volume rockers and has implemented a touch-sensitive solution instead of that. Not just that, in that notch, Huawei has managed to fit a 3D depth camera, ambient light and proximity sensor, and the standard camera. Along with that, this time, there is also a gesture sensor.

The Mate 30 Pro packs a bigger 4500mAh battery compared to that of a 4200mAh capacity battery in the Mate 30In terms of charging speeds, both the phones are same as both of them support fast-charging at up to 40W while connected via USB cable. However, there is also 27W wireless charging.

Both the Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro is powered by Huawei’s very own Kirin 990 chipset which was introduced earlier this month at IFA Berlin. The most notable feature is obviously the in-built 5G modem and the company says that, among the 21 total antennas, 14 antennas are there for 5G only. Kirin 990 also improves improves CPU performance, lowers latency and comes with better GPU performance.

The Huawei Mate 30 Pro will be available in four colors- Classic Black, Space Silver, Cosmic Purple and Emerald Green. Apart from these, there are two more options under Vegan Leather Edition- Orange and Forest Green. The Huawei Mate 30 Pro comes with IP68 dust and water resistance.
