Nubia X Launched in China. Comes with Dual Display to Get Rid of the Notch!



ZTE’s sub-brand Nubia launched their newest flagship Nubia X in China today. The highlight of the smartphone is its dual displays but misses a front camera and a notch.

As for the specifications, the Nubia X features a primary 6.2 inch display with a resolution of FHD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels), 19:9 aspect ratio, 96% NTSC color gamut and a secondary 5.1 inch display with HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels), 19:9 aspect ratio 96% NTSC color gamut and 100% color saturation. Both the displays are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with Adreno 630 GPU. It is coupled with 6GB and 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB, 128GB and 256GB of internal storage with no option for expansion. In the optics department, it comes with a dual camera setup consisting of a 16MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, dual-tone LED flash and a secondary 24MP camera with f/1.7 aperture and dual tone LED flash. The handset lacks a front camera but you can take selfies with the rear camera because of the secondary display.

The device runs on Nubia UI 6.0.2 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo and is backed by a 3,800 mAh battery with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB Type-C while sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass, gyroscope and proximity sensor. It measures 154.1 x 73.30 x 8.4 mm and weighs 181 grams.

As for the pricing, the 6GB/64GB variant costs CNY 3,299 (Rs 35,000 approx) and is available in Black, Grey with Gold color models while the Blue model costs CNY 3,999 (Rs 36,000 approx). The 8GB/128GB comes at a price tag of CNY 3,699 (Rs 39,500 approx) for Black and grey with Gold color models while the blue model costs CNY 3,799 (Rs 40,500 approx). The highest variant with 8GB RAM/256GB storage costs CNY 4,000 (Rs 44,500 approx) for the Black and Gold color models while the Blue with Gold color model is priced at CNY 4,299 (Rs 45,500 approx).

The Nubia X is available for pre-orders starting today and will go on sale from November 5 in company’s official Chinese site and local manufacturers like TMall, and Suning.
