Nubia today confirmed the launch date of the Nubia Red Magic Mars, the successor to the Nubia Red Magic gaming smartphone launched this year in March. A new Pacific Rim-themed poster in company’s official Weibo account reveals it will be unveiled on November 28 along with confirming the “Mars” name. The launch event will take place at Shanghai VSPN E-Sports Center. The company started a crowdfunding campaign for the smartphone on Chinese e-commerce website JD.com last week.
Though not much of Nubia’s second gaming smartphone is known but it was official teased with 10GB of RAM along with “4D Shock” haptic feedback. It is also rumoured to feature shoulder buttons, giving a gamepad like experience.
The device also appeared in benchmarking sites like GeekBench and AnTuTu with model number ‘NX619J’ where it was seen running on the top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, an upgrade from the original Red Magic’s SD 835 chipset. On the Master Lu benchmarking website, it scored an impressive score of 361,730.
On AnTuTu, it recorded a score of 319,781,beating the likes of newly unveiled Nubia X (3,11,781) and the Kirin 980 powered Mate 20 Pro (311,840), which is the best performance by an Android smartphone in October.
The GeekBench spec sheet shows the device running on 6GB RAM while the one over AnTuTu shows 8GB RAM. The Nubia Red Magic Mars is yet to be tested with the top variant with 10GB RAM. The display will have the same resolution as the Red Magic: FHD+(2160 x 1080 pixels) with an wide-screen, notch free 4D gaming experience. It will run on the latest Android 9.0 Pie. It will have 7.1 channel along with 3D sound and a RGB LED panel at rear end. There are some speculations about other features like dual cooling solution (liquid + air) reducing the temperature by 13.2 degrees and price tag of CNY 3,888 (Rs 40,000 approx).
