The Chinese giant ZTE’s sub-brand Nubia has announced yet another gaming phone today, dubbed as Nubia Red Magic 2, successor to the original Red Magic which came earlier this year. This new offering from Nubia is not yet available for open sales, instead the company has started the crowdfunding campaign on JD.com for the same.
As for the specs, the Nubia Red Magic 2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC clocked at 2.8GHZz, an incremental upgrade over the SD835 on the first gen model. Further, the phone packs 10GB of LPDDR4X RAM and whopping 256GB of high speed UFS 2.1 storage.
The company has implemented a dual cooling system which makes use of Air as well as in-build Liquid Cooling. This helps to drop the chipset’s temperature by up to 13.2-degrees and also helps to boost the performance by 70%.
The 4D gaming engine ensures real-time recognition that vibrates the smartphone to intelligent match over 40 game scenes. The device further includes DTS 7.1 surround sound, 3D stereo audio, AI noise canceling, DTSX Ultra and a SMART PA amplifier for immersive audio experience while gaming.
As you’d expect from a typical gaming phone, the handset bears RGB lighting at the back. Additionally, there are air triggers with touch sensors on the right edge of the phone called Red Magic buttons which can be used to control games without touching the display. Moreover, the phone also has a dedicated button for triggering Game boost mode.
As of now, the information about the screen, cameras, and battery capacity is yet to be known. While on the software front, the Red Magic 2 runs the latest Android 9 Pie.
Currently on crowdfunding for ¥3888 (roughly Rs. 40,500), the phone has surprisingly crossed its target of ¥1,000,000 by more than 200% margin, much before the end date of Dec 6. Let’s see what’s the actual price when it hits the market. Stay tuned.
