HMD Global has announced the latest Nokia device, the Nokia X71 today in Taiwan. The major attractions of this device are by no doubt, the punch hole display making it the first ever Nokia device to sport a punch hole display, and the 48 MP rear camera.
The device is basically made of glass with an aluminum frame in the middle which gives the premium feel to the handset. It measures 157.19 x 76.45 x 7.98 mm and weighs 180g. The display is a huge 6.39-inch Full HD+ display for which an impressive 93% screen-to-body ratio is maintained.
Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset. There will be 6 GB RAM on the handset which will be combined with 128 GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 256 GB with the help of a micro SD card. The port used is USB Type C and it retains the headphone jack.
In terms of optics, it comes with a triple rear camera setup of which the primary camera is a 48 MP sensor(f/1.8). The punch hole is placed on the left of the handset. The exact model of the sensor is not known yet. We expect it to be the Sony IMX586 sensor. The secondary lens is an 8 MP ultra wide angle sensor which is further accompanied by a 5 MP depth sensor. On the front, there is a 16 MP lens with f/2.0 aperture.
It draws juice from a 3,500 mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. There is an LED power button breathing notification which is quite unique and it helps to keep track of missed calls and unread messages. In terms of software, it runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box.
The handset will be available in black color at NT$11,900(~Rs.27,000). There is no information regarding the availability in other countries so far. Stay tuned for that.
