HMD Global recently launched the Nokia 2.2 smartphone in India and now the company seems to be gearing up for another mid-range smartphone. A unnamed Nokia smartphone with model number TA-1198 has surfaced online, shared by a Weibo user @fenibook. The device is said to have internal codename “daredevil”.
The leaked images show the Nokia TA-1198 to have a circular camera module that houses a dual camera setup with LED similar to what we have seen on the Huawei Mate 30. It sports a 48MP primary sensor with Zeiss optics. The camera app shows a wide-angle mode which means the secondary sensor could be a 20MP wide-angle lens. On the front, the upcoming Nokia smartphone sports a teardrop notch that holds the selfie camera. There us small chin at the bottom with the Nokia branding, similar to the recently launched Nokia 4.2.
The phone seems to have a glass body paired with a rear-mounted circular fingerprint sensor for biometric security. We can see a USB Type-C port at the bottom with a speaker grill and microphone. There is a dedicated AI button on the left that is likely to trigger Google Assistant. The power button and the volume rocker is placed on the right. There is a 3.5 mm headphone jack at the top.
From the images, the smartphone will feature a display with FHD+ resolution (2340 x 1080 pixels). Under the hood, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset with an Adreno 512 GPU and run Android 9 Pie with stock Android skin. The RAM and storage options are still a mystery.
HMD Global is yet to announced the name and launch date of the smartphone. But looking at the leaks, we can expect it to be right around the corner. We have to wait some more to know more about the smartphone. Till then, keep tuned.
