Motorola‘s Moto G7 series has leaked a couple of times in the past weeks. However, it’s not the only project the company has in its pipeline. Motorola is working on its 2019 versions of the ‘P’ series models that were introduced earlier this year. Today, 91mobiles published the first renders of the smartphone in partnership with @Onleaks, giving an insight into the design aspects into the smartphone. It will likely to be the successor to the Motorola P30 and maybe called Motorola P40. The original P30 didn’t launch in the global market but things might me different for the Motorola P40 with Motorola One branding.
From the renders, the Motorola P40 will be the first device from the brand to come with the new in-display notch housing the front camera, similar to the Samsung Galaxy A8s, Huawei Nova 4, Lenovo Z5s and Honor V20. Similar to many of them, the cut-out hole notch will be placed in the top left in the camera.
As for the features, Motorola P40 will come with a 6.2 inch display with sleek bezels on the sides and a small chin with the company’s branding. The right sides hold the Volume Key and the Power notch while the left side holds the SIM tray. The bottom has a USB type-C port, Speaker grill and mike hole. The top will hold a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The attached renders shows the back panel has 3D curved edges to give a firm grip of the handset, the highly reflective back panel hints at a glass material. There is a protruding, vertically aligned dual camera setup with a 48MP primary camera and two LED flash. The company’s batwing logo doubles up as a fingerprint sensor. It will measure 160.1 x 71.2 x 8.7 mm and will have a 8.7 thickness and a 10mm thickness for the camera bump.
