Xiaomi is all geared up for the launch of the Mi Play smartphone scheduled to launch on December 24 in China. The smartphone will be the Chinese manufacturer’s first handset with a waterdrop notch. Ahead of its launch, more details about the smartphone have surfaced online.
The company today released a couple of high-resolution images of the device. The images reveal it to have a gradient back and will come in Black, Dream Blue and Dawn Gold color options. It indicate the presence of a dual camera setup with LED flash at the rear stacked in a vertical alignment. A tipster from China also shared a live shot of the handset that seems to be taken form a live unboxing of the smartphone. Here, the u-shaped waterdrop notch can be clearly seen. Both the power button and the volume rocker are placed on the right side.
From another report, the complete specs and the price of the smartphone has surfaced online. The Xiaomi Mi Play smartphone will feature a 5.84 inch display with a resolution of FHD+ (2280 x1080 pixels, 432ppi and 1500:1 contrast ratio and features like sunlight legibility, night screen mode and eye protection mode.
Under the hood, it will be powered by a MediaTek Helio processor clocked at 2.3 GHz which is likely to be the Helio P90 SoC. It will have 3 memory configurations: 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM, 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM and 6GB RAM + 128GB RAM. The dual rear cameras are of 12MP + 5MP and will come with AI technology with a large pixel of 1.2µ. The handset will be backed by a 3,000 mAh battery. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Fingerprint sensor and Face Unlocking.
The Xiaomi Mi Play will come at a price tag 1,699 Yuan ($250 or Rs 17,500 approx) and will be launched tomorrow for the Chinese market. Currently there is no word about its global launch.
