Xiaomi today launched its latest Android One offering- the Xiaomi Mi A3. The smartphone is a successor to the last year’s Mi A2 but the hardware indicates that it is a variant of the Xiaomi CC9e that was launched in China earlier this month. However, the presence of stock Android gives a breath of freshness on the handset.

The Mi A3 features a 6.08-inch display with a resolution of HD+ (1560 x 720 pixels) and 19:5:9 aspect ratio. It is disappointing as its predecessor was launched with an FHD+ resolution display. There is a waterdrop style notch and is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is embedded with an in-screen fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 665 paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage that can be expanded further via microSD card.

In the optics department, the device sports a triple camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor with an f/1.9 aperture, an 8MP sensor with a 118-degree wide-angle lens and a 2MP sensor with depth sensing. On the front, it offers a 32MP camera placed on the notch. The dual SIM handset runs stock Android 9 Pie and is backed by a 4,030 mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/A-GPS, USB Type-C and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

It will be available in “Not Just Blue”, “More than White” and “Kind of Gray” color options from July 24. The Chinese company didn’t mention anything about the phone’s pricing or its availability outside Europe.
