Xiaomi launched the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite Android One phones last year which were a hit. The Mi A2 smartphone was released in China with MIUI as Xiaomi Mi 6X. The folks at XDA Developers spotted two smartphones earlier this year codenamed “bamboo_sprout” and “cosmos_sprout” which they claim to be Android One smartphone. It is speculated that the smartphones could be the Mi A3 and the Mi A3 Lite. Another rumored device codenamed “pyxis” is believed to be the successor to the Mi 6X. XDA Editor-in-Chief today revealed in a tweet that all the three upcoming devices will be powered by the Snapdragon 7XX series.
All 3 should be SDM7XX series. Which one (710/712) I can't say for sure yet.

However, Rahman is unsure if the “bamboo_sprout”, “cosmos_sprout” and “pyxis” will be powered by the Snapdragon 710 or 712 chipset. Previous reports have claimed the Mi A3 to feature the Snapdragon 730 chipset. This means the Mi A3 could come with the SD 710 or SD 712. He didn’t mention anything about other specs of the Mi A3 series.
The M1 A2 and Mi A2 Lite were powered by the SD 660 and SD 625 chipsets respectively and hence the Mi A2 Lite had a less powerful chipset. So it was being speculated that Mi A3 Lite will go with the Snapdragon 632 chipset. Since nothing has been confirmed by the manufacturer, it is advisable to wait for further reports to confirm the processor details of both the smartphones. The Mi A2 Lite was rebranded in certain markets as Redmi 6 Pro, so there is a possibility that the Mi A3 Lite could be released as Redmi 7 Pro.
The Xiaomi Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite will run on the stock edition of Android 9 Pie OS. Some reports suggested that the Xiaomi Mi 6X will be released in the market as Xiaomi Mi 9X. The alleged Mi 9X has the same specs as the Mi A3 with an extra layer of MIUI on top. But the Chinese manufacturer is yet to give an official word on that.
The Mi A3, Mi A3 Lite and Mi 9x are expected to feature in-screen fingerprint sensors too. They are likely to sport a 32MP front-facing camera, the one we saw in Redmi Y3. Xiaomi announced the Mi A2 and MI A2 Lite in July. Hence, Xiaomi may decide to follow the same timeline and launch these smartphones in the same month this year.
