We’ve seen earlier reports that Xiaomi has revealed that Mi A2 isn’t launching, and also have heard reports stating that Mi A2 & even Mi A2 lite is launching soon. Now we’ve even more evidence that Mi A2 is indeed real and is coming soon.
Now the phone has been spotted in Geekbench sporting a Snapdragon 660 SoC. As the SoC suggests, this one would indeed be a renamed Mi 6x with stock Android instead of MIUI.
Take a look at the Geekbench listing:
The phone scores 1630 on single core test and 4657 on multi core test, which pretty much aligns with the scores of other SD660 powered devices.
Talking about the phone, the phone comes with a 5.99 inch 18:9 display, but without a notch! The phone is powered by SD660 as you can see from the Geekbench report, and the we can expect the phone to come in only one variant, 4GB RAM & 64GB internal storage, same as that of Mi A1 last year in India. The phone will come with Android 8.1 out of the box, powered by Android One.
Now coming to cameras, the phone comes with 12+20MP dual cameras and that too are some of the best you can get in the budget. There is also 20MP front camera, which sounds similar because it’s more or less the same from the Redmi Note 5 Pro.
Talking about the battery, the phone is powered by a measly 3010mAh battery. Which is just enough for a full day usage.
For now, let’s just wait for the official launch of the phone, we can expect it in the end of this month or next month, and it should align with upcoming Asus Zenfone 5 launch.
Samsung might use the 64MP ISOCELL GW1 Sensor in Galaxy A70S!
Samsung recently launched Galaxy A70 here in India which was first announced in Thailand few months before. The device came with some interesting camera module i.e a triple solution to the back and a 32MP shooter to the front. The device was decently priced and now the brand is working on a successor to it reportedly to call as A70s. According to Korean website ET news; the device will be the world’s first device to have a 64MP sensor.
Reports on the web confirms that the device will carry a 64MP sensor which will be of Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1 which was announced earlier this month. The largest sensor as of now is 48MP which is available in Samsung as GM1 and from Sony is IMX586.
The 64MP GW1 sensor uses pixel-merging Tetracell technology and remosaic algorithm to produce 16MP photos in low-light environments and detailed 64MP pictures in brighter settings. The mechanism is same as the 48MP sensor. There’s support for Super PD on board which means the high-performance phase detection autofocus tech.
The sensor is also capable of real-time HDR of up to 100-decibels to produce richer hues. Apparently the sensor is the capable of full-HD recording at 480 fps for smooth cinematic slow-mo videos. This is a major advantage of the sensor.
The source reveals that the device will be launched in Q3/Q4 of this year. The report doesn’t revealed any other information on the tech of new 64MP sensor. The Galaxy A70 was powered by Snapdragon 675 and 32+8+5MP triple camera setup and a 32MP selfie shooter. It has 6.7 inch super AMOLED display with a massive 4500mAh battery and support for 25W fast charging tech.
Mi 9T Gets Certified in Thailand, Possibly a Pro Version of Mi 9!
Xiaomi sub-brand Mi has launched the flagship Mi 9 and variants such as Mi 9 Transparent Edition and Mi 9 SE earlier in 2019. These smartphones are yet to be launched in the major global markets but the Chinese manufacturer is already preparing for its next smartphone in the series: the alleged Mi 9T.
An unnamed Mi series smartphone with model number M190310G received certification from the NBTC regulatory database in Thailand. This is not the first time the smartphone has been spotted as it has already been certified by numerous regulatory agencies in the past like NCC, EEC, IMDA and FCC. The smartphone is speculated to be none other than the Xiaomi Mi 9T.
From the NTBC certification, there is much information about the device apart from its model number. However, the certification hints that it could be launch sometime soon. The company is yet to officially confirm the phone or release any teaser, which we expect to happen soon.
