Mi A2 & Mi A2 Lite Launched Globally in Spain! But A2 Lite won’t come to India.

Xiaomi today launched the Mi A2 and the Mi A2 Lite smartphone in Spain, ending all the rumours and leaks. The Mi A2 is the successor of the Mi A1 which was the company’s first stock Android phone and went on to become a massive hit. But the Mi A2 Lite is the first of its kind and more affordable than the regular Mi A2 variant. The Mi A2 is based on the 6X while the Lite version is based on the Redmi 6 Pro.

As you expected, Mi A2 is the rebranded Mi 6x which was launched earlier in China. It comes with a unibody metal design and is slimmer than the Redmi 5 Pro. There is no notch and the volume rocker along with the power button is placed on the right side. The front has rounded corners, bezels on the top and bottom while the rear sports a protruding dual camera setup stacked in a vertical position on the top left accompanied by a circular fingerprints sensor. It measures 158.7 x 75.4 x 7.3 mm and weighs 168 grams.

As for the specs, the smartphone comes with a 5.99 inch IPS LCD display with 1080p+ resolution, 403 ppi pixel density and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under the hood, it is  powered by a Qualcomm 660 chipset clocked at 2.2GHz with Adreno 512 which will be coupled with 4/6 GB of RAM and 32/64/128 GB of internal storage.

The rear dual camera setup consists of 20MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 12MP camera sensor with f/1.8 aperture. On the front it offers a 20MP camera sensor with f/1.8 aperture. Like the Mi A1, it runs stock Android 8.1.0 Oreo version and will is backed by a 3010 mAh battery. The device will be available in Blue, Gold and Black color options.

Mi A2 Lite

The more affordable Mi A2 Lite is different both in terms of design and specs. This will be among the few smartphones along with Nokia X5 that has both stock Android and a top notch. It packs a 5.84 inch display with a resolution of HD+ and an aspect ratio of 19:9.

It will be powered by an Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset coupled with 3/4GB RAM and 32/64GB internal space. The device sports a dual camera setup of 12MP + 5MP configuration while offering a 5MP on the front. It runs on stock Android 8.1 Oreo version and will be backed by a 4,000 mAh battery which is bigger than the one offered in Mi A2.

Prices and Availability

The Mi A2 comes at a price tag of €249 (20073.80 INR) for 4GB/32GB model, €279 (22492.34 INR) for the 4GB/64GB model and €349 (28135.57 INR) 6GB /128GB model. While the Mi A2 Lite is priced at €179 (14430.57 INR) for the 3GB/32GB model and €229 (18461.45 INR) for 4GB/64GB respectively.

Vivo Nex Dual Display Launched in China. Dual Display & 10GB RAM!

Vivo finally launched the most awaited successor of the Vivo NEX. However, it is named as Vivo Nex Dual Display Edition and not Vivo NEX 2 as expected. The device’s USP is its dual displays which is completely different to the ones found in Yotaphone and Meizu Pro 7. Also another spectacular feature of the smartphone is its 3D TOF stereo camera.

Unlike its predecessor, the Vivo Nex Dual Edition doesn’t have a pop-up selfie camera.  The presence of the secondary display eliminates the need of the selfie camera. However, it doesn’t mean that the Chinese manufacturer have given up on that design style and we may see another model in first half of 2019 with pop-up camera design.

As for the specs, the primary display is a 6.39 inch Super AMOLED bezel-less screen with a resolution of HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 19:5:9. It is almost devoid of bezels and comes with a high screen-to-body ratio of 91.63%. The secondary display is of 5.49 inch and is of Super AMOLED quality. It has a resolution of FHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 16:9. Under the hood, it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with 10GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

Vivo Introduces Futuristic Dual Display Smartphone for “NEX-Level” Multifaceted Experience

The device sports a triple camera setup with a primary 12MP camera with f/1.79 aperture and OIS m a secondary 2MP “Night Video” with f/1.8.The third one is a 3D TOF (time of flight) which will be mainly used for advanced Face Unlock feature. However, it’s not limited to that and offers features like personalized beautification, 3D face modelling.

With the help of secondary display the cameras offer features like Mirror Mode and Pose Director The two main sensors are circled by a LED “Lunar ring” while the LED flash is placed on the extreme left. The ring light illuminates in camera ticking, gameplay, and couple of other occasions.

The handset runs on FunTouch OS 4.5 based on Android 9.0 Pie and support from Vivo’s JOVI voice assistant. It comes with AI screen recognition, Body and Face Shaping.  It is backed by a 3,500 mAh battery with support for 2.25A 10V fast charging. There is also an in-display fingerprint sensor embedded in the display.

The Vivo Nex Dual Edition is priced at 4,998 Yuan (Rs 52,000 approx) in Star Purple and Ice Field color variants. It will go on sale from December 29 and is up for pre-order in China via local retailers like Jingdong (JD.com), Tmall, Suning. The company has not given any word on the global release of the smartphone but we expect it to happen eventually.

OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition Launched in India for Rs. 50,999!

OnePlus has been launching special editions for its flagship devices for a while now. We have witnessed the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition and the OnePlus 6 Avengers Edition in the past. Now the brand is all set to launch the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition. The device has been unveiled yesterday at a global event held in the UK.

Today, OnePlus launched the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition in India at an event held in Mumbai. The company had been teasing the device with the tag “Salute to Speed”. They had recently announced the collaboration with British car brand McLaren and added that the collaboration with McLaren is a “long-term strategic partnership” which hints that more devices could be launched by the partnership of both the companies in the upcoming year.

The OnePlus McLaren Edition comes in a Papaya Orange colour which is also McLaren signature colour.  Underneath the glass deign at the rear we can see the McLaren carbon fibre design. It comes with a 10GB RAM and 256GB internal storage which is higher than the 8GB Thunder Purple variant that was launched recently.  With this launch, the smartphone also earns the title of world’s first smartphone to launch globally with 10 GB RAM. The device can handle multi-tasking with ease and shoot 4K videos at 60FPS without fuss.

The handset has an orange black theme and comes with the same 3,700 mAh battery but with a new Warp charge 30 technology which the company claims to offer a day’s power within 20 minutes of charge. The company integrated a new circuit in the charger as well as on the phone along with new power management software that ensures smooth power flow into the device without slowing down even while it is being used.

Additionally, there are new exclusive software animations and there new Warp Charge 30 power adapter is being painted on Papaya Orange instead of Red. The device comes with headphone dongle, a McLaren-branded case, a piece of actual carbon fibre that is encased in an acrylic block along with a hardcover book that highlights McLaren’s racing history.

Other specs of the smartphone remain the same as the OnePlus 6T regular variant featuring a 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display with a notch on top and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. It sports a dual rear camera setup of 20 MP + 16 MP and offers a single 16 MP camera at the front.

Coming to the most interesting aspect, the pricing of the device. The handset is priced at Rs. 49,999 making it the costliest OnePlus phone ever launched and will retail from next week(placeholder text).

OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition Launched. Comes with 10GB RAM & Warp Charge 30!

OnePlus today launched the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition that it has been teasing for weeks with the tag “Salute to Speed”. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer recently announced its collaboration with British car brand McLaren announcement and added that the collaboration with McLaren is a “long-term strategic partnership” meaning there can be more number of McLarenxOnePlus handsets in the future.
