Xiaomi had launched the Mi A1 in India back in 2017. The smartphone was an absolute hit, showcasing a variety of features including Portrait mode. It had the battery efficient Snapdragon 625, and cam under the Android One program. This promised the phone quick and seamless updates over the air.
As the Mi A1 is the Mi 5X’s counterpart in overseas countries, the A2 is supposed to be the 6X’s counterpart. Ever since the Mi 6X was launched on April in China, there is wide speculation of a launch in other countries. However, contrary to our anticipations, it has been June and there is no launch done. But right now, the Mi A2 Lite has been spotted in Singapore’s regulatory website IMDA.
Take a look at the listing:
While rumors have been spreading that this particular lower variant has 32 GB of RAM (which was launched last week in China) as opposed to the 64/128GB of RAM on the Mi 6X, or it could be a completely different device. It could come up in the 10k budget section with Snapdragon 630 SoC, then again, there are all rumours. What we’re sure about the fact that the phone will be powered by Android One, just like Mi A1.
The model is listed as M1805D1SG on the website, which gives away no particular information. However, as the Mi A2 lite is already listed, we can expect the A2 soon. This also means that a launch in India and other countries is imminent. Moreover, the A2 is listed on the Eurasian Economic Commission, so a launch in Europe can also be expected.
Mi Mix 3 to Launch on October 25th. 5G & 10GB RAM Teased!
Xiaomi‘s Mi Mix 3 is one of the most awaited smartphones this year. Xiaomi President Lin Bin revealed the device back in August but didn’t give much information. Recently Xiaomi posted a smiley face in its official account hinting to a Mi Mix 3 launch. Now an official poster revealing details about the launch has surfaced on Chinese media platform Weibo.
A previous poster also surfaced earlier suggesting that the device will launch on October 15 which turned out to be fake. But this time the company itself put the poster on its official Weibo account confirming the October 25 launch date.
According to the poster, the company will unveil the device on October 25. From the images from the poster, we can see its manual slider, a feature which was showcased by Xiaomi’s CEO and which was also leaked on a hands on video. Also from the silhouette of the device we can make out that it will come with a full screen display without any bezels which matches with the previous renders leaked before.
Xiaomi also teased two new industry firsts, one being that the phone will be the first commercial 5G phone and that the phone will be having a 10GB RAM variant. Take a look at the teasers:
As for the device, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is speculated to sport a 6.4 inch display with a resolution of 2K. It is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset coupled with 6GB and 8GB RAM. In the optics department the handset will sport a dual camera setup of 16MP + 13MP in the rear and a 20MP selfie camera. It is also stated to come with a 3D structured light module for facial recognition. Though there is no official word on the price, a 128GB variant appeared on the Xiaomi shop for a price tag of $452 (Rs 33,500 approx).
Asus Schedules Launch event for 17th October. Zenfone Max Pro M2 & Max M2 Incoming?
Asus recently entered the India market with its new Zenfone Max Pro series which performed extraordinarily well in terms of sales. Now, it seems that the Taiwanese giant is planning to launch yet another smartphone in the country on the 17th of October.
The hint comes from the official social media handles of the company as well as the media invites. The invite sent by Asus reads out the time and venue of the event, followed by the confirmation that the upcoming smartphones will be a part of the Zenfone series. The event will be held on the 17th of October at 12:30 pm IST and will take place in New Delhi. Furthermore, the event will be live-streamed as well as the previous launch.
Moreover, the teaser on Instagram suggests the first global launch of two new Zenfones in India. If you are not aware of these two phones, let us tell you that two new Asus smartphones namely the Asus Zenfone Max M2 and Zenfone Max Pro M2 were recently seen on EEC and it is a strong possibility that these two devices turn out to be the same which the company has planned to launch on 17th.
Some were even speculating the launch of Asus Rog gaming phone in India which unfortunately is barred by the fact that it doesn’t fall under the Zenfone series.
As of now, we don’t have much information available about the devices but it can be said that the Zenfone Max Pro M2 might be powered by the relatively powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 or even the Snapdragon 710 SoC coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of Internal Storage. The device is expected to be a direct successor to the Zenfone Max Pro M1 with a notched display, better cameras and a similar battery capacity of around 5000mAh.
On the other hand, Zenfone Max M2 (non-pro) might be a sub-10K smartphone just like the Realme 2 and is expected to bear Snapdragon 450 chipset. However, we insist that you should take these specs with a pinch of salt as we don’t have any official words on the same.
As usual, we expect an aggressive pricing from Asus to compete with the likes of Xiaomi and Realme. Let us wait for the launch to have exact information on the same. Till then, Stay tuned.
HTC to launch its blockchain smartphone, Exodus on October 22
The legendary smartphone maker HTC has been suffering quite a lot in the mobile industry, the reason they are not so aggressive in launching smartphones back to back. Now, it seems that the Taiwanese giant is planning to experiment with something new and it is a blockchain smartphone. Yes, you heard it right, the company is planning to launch the new HTC Exodus blockchain smartphone and has confirmed the launch date of the same to be 22nd of October.
Furthermore, HTC has created a new website and a dedicated Instagram account for Exodus where it has teased the device. You can have a look at the teaser below:
As you can see, the specifications of the device aren’t mentioned anywhere throughout the video, neither we have any strong leaks for the same, instead, it only reveals the basic outline of the device. One can clearly see the HTC Exodus logo on the back of the phone.
As of now, it is being speculated that this new smartphone from HTC will serve as a storage wallet for Bitcoin and Ethereum cryptocurrencies. and can be accessed by a unique key for security. The device will most likely run on Android but will have certain enhancements like new security protocols and apps for safely storing cryptocurrencies. It is also reported that the company has created a security enclave dubbed as Trust Zone within the ARM hardware for further security as the device may also support trading of cryptos.
The new website reads out that it will be the first-ever smartphone to arrive with decentralized apps and security and further provides an option to enter user details to stay updated on the smartphone. Fortunately, the website also reveals a more detailed design outline of the Exodus than in the teaser which confirms that the phone will bear a single rear camera. The pricing is expected to be somewhere around $1000. Let us see what actually comes on Oct 22, till then, stay tuned.
