Meizu Launches Meizu 16th, Meizu 6T & Meizu C9 in India!

Chinese manufacturer Meizu has made a re-entry into the Indian market with the launch of three smartphones: Meizu M6T, entry level Meizu C9 and of course their flagship, Meizu M16th.

The Meizu M6T and the Meizu M16th were previously launched in China and  is a rebranded version of the Meizu 6T and Meizu 16 respectively. Meizu also unveiled two new Bluetooth powered earphones at the launch event.

Finally, the premium flagship offering Meizu M16th features a 6 inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2160 pixels), 18:9 aspect ratio and 89.57 percent screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with Adreno 630 GPU. It is coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 onboard storage.

In the optics department, it sports a dual rear camera setup of a 12MP Sony IMX380 sensor and a secondary 20MP telephoto lens while offering a 20MP sensor on the front which the company claims to be the “smallest 20MP camera in the world”. The dual SIM handset runs FlymeOS on top of Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and is backed by a 3,010 mAh battery with support for mCharge fast charging. It comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor with a claimed 0.25 response time. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX, GPS, USB Type-C port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

The Meizu M6T comes with a 5.7 inch HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) in-cell display with 18:9 aspect ratio and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 chipset coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. It sports a dual rear camera setup of a 13MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 2MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture while offering an 8MP in the front. The dual SIM handset runs on FlymeOS on top of Android Oreo and is backed by a 3,300 mAh battery.

The Meizu C9 sports a 5.45 inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core Spreadtrum 9832E SoC coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. In the optics department, it sports a single 13MP sensor with 5-element lens, f/2.2 aperture and LED flash while offering an 8MP on the front with f/2.2 aperture and Face Unlock feature. The dual SIM handset runs on stock version of Android Oreo and is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery.

The M6T is priced at Rs 7,999 and will be available in Black and Rose Gold color options. The Meizu C9 comes at a price tag of Rs 5,999 and will be available in Black and Gold options. It will also be available at a special limited period price of Rs 4,999 on Amazon India.

Finally, the flagship Meizu M16th is available for an introductory price of Rs 39,999 in the Indian market. The three smartphone will be available via Amazon India. The C9 will go on sale from today while the M6T and M16th sale dates are yet to be announced. Launch offer include Rs 2,000 cashback and 100GB additional data by Reliance Jio on the purchase of M16th while the M6T and C9 will get 50GB additional data with the same cashback amount.
