South Korean manufacturer LG is working on a device in Q series called LG Q7. It will be a direct successor to last year’s LG Q6 and will be placed below the Q8. The smartphone existence was confirmed when the company applied for trademark in Korean Intellectual Property. Today the device appeared in benchmarking website GeekBench revealing the specs.

Earlier this week, trustable leaker Roland Quandt claimed that the LG Q7 may sport a MediaTek processor instead of following the predecessor which sported a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset.  It turned out to be true as the smartphone will be powered by an Octa-core Helio P10 chipset clocked at 1.51 GHZ. This is coupled with 4GB of RAM for which it achieved a score of 630 on since-core test while maintaining a 2322 on multi-core test. Previously, it was reported the LG Q7 will include a display called MLCD+ display which consumes 35% less power than a regular display and is significantly brighter. It will be launched along with another variant called the LG Q7 Stylus (LM-Q710), which will include a Stylus as evident from the name. The smartphone will be competing with the upcoming Galaxy Note 9 which is rumoured to come with an S-Pen. It may also sport a top notch which is a common trend among Android phones. However other details like camera specification and battery is still unknown.

The LG Q6 was launched last year was announced in July and started sales in August. The Q7 series is expected to follow the same schedule which means the company make an official announcement towards the end of June or beginning of July and releasing in the month of August. As for the price, it is speculated the smartphone will come with a price tag of around $300 (Rs 20,000 approx).

The source comes from an insider according to whom the company will make the device as par with the latest standards.

There is currently very less information available about the smartphone, but it is speculated that recently leaked Galaxy A series phone is none other than this one. Twitter user Ice Universe spotted Samsung announcing a new AMOLED display technology during its OLED Forum conference in China. The display will include a fingerprint scanner, sound, haptics and under panel sensor (UPS) which eliminating the need of a notch.

Huawei is developing its own gaming centric device under Huawei brand (they already have one under Honor, Honor Play). Samsung gaming phone will be competing against the likes of Xiaomi Black Shark 2ASUS ROG phone and Nubia Red Magic.
